Sensitive mics, OK sound quality, EZ connectivity, slow data transfer
Sound Quality • For guitar, it's OK for recording licks, but the sound quality isn't stellar. The mics are very sensitive and pick up an unplugged electric guitar well, along with a lot of background noise.Because of the sensitivity of the mics, I believe the core use case is speech at a distance: class lectures, town halls, business meetings and the like. Set it down and don't touch it because any jostling is very loud in the recording.Noise Cancelling • I tried the different noise cancelling settings, but I couldn't tell the difference between "Off", "1" and "5". The refrigerator in the background is loud and clear in all.Connectivity • Copying recordings to my Mac was very easy. Just plug it in to USB-A and wait a couple seconds for it to auto-select "Charge and transfer" and the drive appears on my desktop. The drive format is ExFAT, which is read/write on Mac. The drive connects via USB 2.0, so copying those 62 GB will take about 3 hours. The USB 3 cable is a fake; blue plugs indicate USB 3, but this cable doesn't have the extra connectors that USB 3.0 requires. I tried a USB 3 cable that I know is fast, but got the same slow copy speed.Carrying Case • The quality of the case stands out. It feels nice in the hand and is easy to use. It's made of a semi-rigid plastic lined with fabric on both sides. The zipper is smooth and the pull is easy to grasp. The pockets are easy to use thanks to the stiff case.Storage:- The actual capacity is 62GB in 1000 base and 58 GB in 1024 base. I verified the entire flash storage; no data was lost when writing/reading the entire capacity.- Filling the flash storage with random data took 3h7m at 5.28 MB/sec- Reading all of the data back took 2h27m at 6.69 MB/sec- Data transfer is slow for USB 2.0, which can do 40+ MB/sec. The bottleneck is probably a slow MicroSD card, but I didn't open it up to check.

Simple to use for more than just lectures
I can't claim to be knowledgeable of today's recording devices. Operating this Fikyra recorder is straight forward, and the construction appears fine to me. It weighs about four ounces and, though it might seem plasticity, it's not dissimilar to the TV and other remotes I have. Nearly all the buttons are soft to the touch and, so far, work without sticking. Unlike many users of a voice recorder, I have no plans to attend lectures. As an octogenarian, I just want something that's simple to use and meets my needs. Recently, I completed a 474-page autobiography and had it published for members of my family. After reading it, my daughter mentioned she wished she would be able to hear my voice reading parts of it (Once I've moved on, I assume). With neither access, nor funds to have this done professionally, I thought I might be able to do it myself with a simple voice recorder and my computer. The result needn't be perfect; if my dog barks in the middle of a sentence, that will just be a bonus.

Tidy compact unit
Great for recording meetings, lectures, middle of the night bedside thoughts, etc. Controls take some getting used to, but are nowhere near as frustrating and unintuitive as recorders that "conveniently" interface through a smartphone link. Sound fidelity is acceptable for spoken word recordings.

It Broke After Just A Few Days Of Use
This digital voice recorder may possibly have some quality and/or battery issues. It did function at first and it was easy to charge and pretty straightforward to use. But then it stopped working completely while I was listening to a recording. The battery can no longer be charged at all.
