I really like these desktop file bins for organizing my hanging files. Whenever I tried the bar-type contraptions for converting a file drawer to use hanging files, they would end up bending and warping. These bins work much better to support the hanging files! They are the perfect size and make organizing file drawers a breeze. I can take them in and out of the drawer easily if I just want to work on one section of my filing at a time – and sit at my desk as I work instead of standing and standing (and standing some more!) in front of the file cabinet. They don't fit in my file drawer with the long side facing frontward. I have to put them in sideways: I can fit four of them in each drawer that way. It bothered me until I discovered a hidden advantage! It's much easier to access a file drawer from the side then it is from the front. I always drop a book or a pack of labels or something between the two bins in the front and the two bins in the back to keep about half an inch or so of space between them. Otherwise the hanging files tend to get hooked onto the wrong bins, which makes it hard to get either a bin or an individual file out of the drawer. I usually purchase these bins one or two at a time, as I make progress on my filing project. I also keep a bin on my desk for active projects and handling mail, a couple of bins with my cookbooks to hold recipe pamphlets, and a bunch more that I stand up on end on my bookshelves to hold current magazines, pocket folders, thin craft-work books, and so on. I have recommended them to family members who use them and have also given them as gifts to friends. Although I will be buying my own hanging folders (I would like them to be colorful, not just color-coded) the bins did come with hanging folders to get me started. These fit the bill in so many ways!

Update: I ordered a second one of these. The plastic holder is still just as good, but the packaging is not. There was a wrapping on it and the file folders that came with it were curved under. If you don't want your file folders curved, this isn't so great. Also, I don't know if they did it on purpose (looks like it), but it arrived with the coffee filters I ordered tucked inside on top of the file folders. The first one of these I ordered came in its own box, which was perfect, but I also ordered twine that could have also ended up inside this harming the file folders. So....perhaps when you buy it, only buy this and don't buy anything else that they might package with it. As for the file folders being bent because of it's cardboard label/wrap, that's the seller/manufacture, not Amazon's packers. So, I still recommend this if you don't expect your file folders to not come bent. They should probably just lower the price a bit and not include the hanging file folders.Product quality has been declining at a rate that I'm sure I don't need to elaborate on, but this product is great. It is sturdy. It could be stronger for when it is full and it could use some felt feet to protect your shelves. I ordered this because another reviewer said that two of them fit perfectly in one cubby of a Kallax shelf and they do! This fits standard hanging file folders perfectly too. I put the tabs all along the front and so can see at a glance what I am looking for even before I pull it out of the shelf. I think I'll buy some felt feet for this to protect my selves. Definitely a good purchase, especially if you use Kallax shelves.

Exactly what I needed sizing down. Keeps current personal files handy without taking up a lot of space. Very happy with my purchase.

Durable material! Great for the office

Everything about these folder holders is great, if you don’t care about paying extra for them. They come with about 5 black hanging files and plastic tabs. I would prefer that the cardboard part of the tabs was more generous as my categories change a lot. I appreciate that the plastic holder has like a geometric “U” shape on each long side so that I can reach into a file folder easily. These folder holders sit sturdily on my rolling cart.

The best way to keep folders organized. Simple and elegant design.
