This is a complete game changer. If you are serious about flight SIM, this is an absolute must have. This product is well build and well designed. If you are like me and sick and tired of endless scrolling and dragging your mouse to set altitude and heading for the autopilot and try to program a radio frequency, this unit completely eliminates the need for a mouse when doing that. The rotary encoder is amazing and registers every click. I tried to use the rotary encoder on the honeycomb bravo but it was a complete disaster and didn't register clicks well at all. This Octavi IVR registers every click and is very smooth. I wish it had a "FLC" (Flight Level Change) button, but I can just use vertical speed instead, so no big deal there. The heading hold and NAV hold buttons are a little hard to press, but other than that, i absolutely love this thing and wish I had bought it sooner. One thing to mention, you have to install the plug-in, Then launch MSFS 2024, then launch the plugin and it should say "connected to MSFS 2020" before it will work.*Edit, the HDG and NAV buttons are NOT hard to press, I just needed to set the button to "delayed response" in the simulator because it was registering too quickly. After that, it works flawlessly!

Very well made. Download the software and you are all set. It’s self explanatory and has a very nice tactile feel. Would love to see an upgrade with a light indicating when you are in the secondary functions. If you are into MSFS 2020 or 2024 and enjoy flying with glass Garmin instruments then this is for you. Small and compact and it performs all the functions as some bulkier systems on the market.

In the beginning, I was enthusiastic about the design and described scope of the effectiveness of the IFR-1. As I used it, I found that it is effectively limited to general aviation applications as it come out of the box. The plug-in software provided by Octovi is adequate in this regard. I found that it worked well with MSFS 2020 and x-plane 11 and 12 in so far as the airplanes provided as default are concerned and as long as the aircraft are fitted with steam gauges or Garmin gns430/530 units. G3000 gps units are only supported if the mobiflight software is used to creat data-ref values that create controls peculiar to the instrumentation of third party aircraft. I found that my system would not be recognized by the mobiflight software. This effectively limited my use of the IFR-1 to default aircraft. I have many 3rd party aircraft. The IFR-1 restricts me to the extent that I returned the unit. I did not contact either Octavi or MobiFlight help facilities because I am interested in being able to use a device out of the box and not have to fiddle with issues that go beyond the use of a device on its own merrits. I recommend this device for those in the flight sim community who are interested in going beyond the basic unit and creating controls for 3rd party aircraft. For those folks, this device will privide hours of enjoyment in my opinion. I realize that I just ended a sentence with a preposition! ;)

The item was shipped quickly and is packaged nicely. The Octavi is perfect for flight sim use! Very easy to set up as well.Would highly recommend!

Awesome device for flight simmers. Much better than using your mouse to activate various nav or autopilot functions. If you don’t want to spend the massive $$ to buy the panels, this device fits the bill. I especially like using the knobs for altimeter, altitude, heading, or nav waypoint changes…much better than the mouse. Like the old commercial days, “try it, you’ll like it!”

Great tool for flight simming. Very simple and straightforward to setup and use.

I am a flight sim junkie. When I saw the IFR-1 I "bit" like a starving fish. It arrived quickly and I instantly installed the software (on MSFS 2024). There is a little learning curve, like a calculator with multi-function buttons. On day one everything worked perfectly. On day two, one very important function stopped working when using the top small knob. I spent hours trying to figure out what happened overnight, the small knob worked for everything except that one item (Vertical Speed). I gave up after hours and emailed support. After multiple discussions with the tech, Daniel, he pinned down where the problem was expected. It was an overlooked flight sim function duplication. Once corrected the IFR-1 was perfect. Lack of or poor support ruins the products worth, no worries here. I was surprised that my emails were actually answered within minutes after being sent. The entire event was fast and professional, I could not have asked for better support. p.s. I learned a bit about proper function modifications too.
