Victorinox Spartan, Black, 91mm

Given the boatloads of variations of Swiss Army knives, it can be confusing to some as to which model/version to get. I've had many throughout my life (such as: Victorinox Original Swiss Army Climber Pocket Knife (Red) , Victorinox Swiss Army Huntsman Pocket Knife , Victorinox Swiss Army Fieldmaster Pocket Knife (Red) , Victorinox Swiss Army 54781 Explorer Boy Scout, Red - all of which I still have and use) , tried many that I just didn't like - Victorinox Swiss Army Evolution S54 Tool Chest Plus Swiss Army Knife - comes to mind, but the one that I carry every day, take with me everywhere, and which gets the most use is this Spartan. It is absolutely perfect. It has everything I've ever really needed. As much as I love the other Swiss Army knives I have, in my case, the majority of implements/tools contained on them do not get much use (yes, even the scissors - I've rarely been in need of scissors such that the knife wouldn't do the same job quicker and more fluidly- especially for those of us with large hands). With this Spartan, I've used everything, regularly. It's an excellent suited knife for every day carry. Not too big, not too small, feels great in the hand (i.e., as opposed to some of the others that become quite thick when you start cramming more tools/implements in), very easy to carry (an important feature) and has never failed me, showing no signs of ever letting up. In short, I love this knife. Again, it is the one reached for time and time again, without fail. There are no shortage of options when it comes to Swiss Army knives. All are excellent quality, worth far more than their price point(s). Ultimately you have to consider your needs, realistically, and pick the one that most closely fits them. However, you would be hard-pressed to find a better option than this Spartan to handle pretty much anything you'll ever really need in every-day life. Quality, reliability, durability, extremely well-priced. You cannot go wrong here, whereas, if you do pick a bigger-model SAK that you realistically don't need, you'll probably find yourself not using it very often and not carrying it with you. It goes back to the point of being easy to carry; this one is, some of the others, not so much. Again, highly recommend this Spartan.

I own the Spartan and gave two away as gifts this past Christmas. It's highly functional and so useful. More bells and whistles than the Victorinox Bantam or Classic but still slim in the pocket and has all the essentials I need. The Spartan and Camper are my faves. I don't often need a corkscrew as I don't drink; however, I have found other uses for it, like untying knots and storing the separately purchased eyeglass screwdriver. I prefer having the corkscrew over the Phillips driver on other models (like the Tinker) because I've found that the can opener on the Spartan does a decent job on Phillips screws. A separate Phillips driver isn't needed, in my opinion. You can't go wrong with the Spartan! How often do you really need pliers, a magnifying glass, nail file, or other features offered on more expensive, thicker models? Probably not all that often. For me, I much prefer the Spartan due to its thinness, which makes it easily pocketable. This is a classic Swiss Army knife, and you can't go wrong in buying it. If you like the toolset on the Spartan, you might consider looking at the Tourist. It has exactly the same tools, but instead of being 91mm long, it's smaller at 84mm long. The Tourist is easier to carry in a pocket but just as capable and handy.

This has been the optimal pocket knife for me through the past decade. I periodically replace them due to loss or because I bend the blade using it as the wrong tool for a job. It is an excellent balance of tools on a knife that fits easily within a pocket. The combination of full-size blade for general use and a small blade for occasional use makes sure that I have a sharp and clean-ish blade available. The reamer has been surprisingly helpful for making a hole in plastics and leather where a using a blade would produce an very rough hole. I highly recommend buying the mini screwdriver that threads into the corkscrew. I use it a lot for tightening the screw which attaches the arms onto sunglasses and glasses. The mini-screw driver is grossly overpriced for what you get, but it is very useful. Shop for a 3-pack of mini-screw drivers to lower the cost of having to replace or give one away.

Bought these as a wedding gift to my groomsmen. Decided on the black over the traditional red. This is a timeless tool setup and can do almost anything imaginable. I know some knives include other tools like scissors, magnifying glasses, etc, but this setup will perform for almost every task, remain small enough to not be a bother in your pocket, and large enough that you won't misplace it. The black looks great with the stainless. So good, in fact, that I went back and purchased one for myself after the wedding. Makes a great groomsmen gift as the price is set perfectly to make this a cheap and awesome gift. I can't imagine a single complaint someone would have with one of these knives. Only recommendation I would give is purchasing the small screwdriver that fits in the corkscrew. For anyone with glasses, that thing comes in handy! It's also a great thing to have for others around you when someone's set of glasses breaks and you don't have a drug store or grocery store near by.

This is a nice, very handy knife. Plenty of features without that bulky “SWISS ARMY KNIFE” blob of metal in your pocket. The handle seems a little cheaply made—my only complaint.

It's a Swiss army knife. Top quality and iconic! Can't go wrong. My cousin loved it as a Xmas gift

Assim também a cor preta (black) por ser mais discreta, versátil e casual, ideal desde o EDC até um ambiente mais formal como um jantar à noite. Product quality is there but giant Heininger logo which is not on the advertised picture, totally ruins the design.
