I installed this to control a 240v 3000 watt infrared heater. The wiring to the heater included a neutral so for the input to the remote switch I used one of the two 120v hot legs and the neutral wire. Output was just the hot leg which goes to the heater. Works great.

Firstly, I really like this product. The only improvement that I would suggest would be an app to help find the remotes when you lose them. It does what it advertises and does it remarkably well. I don't have any range issues.I hope that this review will help anyone trying to use this on a 240V appliance in the US or where ever 120V single phase electricity is sold. After reading the description and testimonials as well as seeing this product on YouTube, I thought I would be able to use it as a stand-alone remote switch for my 240V Jet dust collector. This sadly wasn't the case.This only controls one pole of electricity. You cannot use it to directly control both poles of a 240V appliance. You will need to add an AC contractor. I used the "BOJACK 2 Poles FLA 30 Amp Coil 120 VAC Air Conditioner Condenser Compressor Contactor" from Amazon ($13.99).The VonVoff switch is a single pole switch used to energize a single phase 120V control circuit on the contactor. This in-turn closes the contacts on the AC contactor and connects a 240V dust collector in my case, to the dual 120V poles, or legs, for a total of 240V at 20A.The junction box in my picture is a Southwire 8in x 8in x 4in. I thought about the 6x6x4 box that I have seen recommended, but I am glad I went bigger. The extra two inches made a huge difference when routing the wires in the box.Be sure to use appropriately sized wiring for your project. When using 120V AC; 14ga up to 15A. 12ga up to 20A and 10ga for 30A.I am very happy with the way this project turned out and would recommend this solution to anyone. In summary, this is most of what you will need:- VonVoff Switch- An AC Contactor- A metal or plastic box to put it in (Minimum size 6x6x4, but larger is recommended 8x8x4)- Some Spade connectors, both male and female (I used yellow 12ga female spades for the contactor and blue 14ga male fork spades for the VonVoff switch. The 12ga fork spades would not fit)- Wago wire connectors made connecting the wires together easy.- Good crimpers, Klein is always a great choice.- Stranded wire makes the whole job easier.

I’ve used these devices on several occasions and have always been pleased with there performance and the exceptional range of the remotes.

Works well when not at vacuum. Recommend for convenience and safe operation.

What you see is exactly what you get, controller with two key fobs... I haven't try out the long range distance but close range 20' works flawless. One thing I would like to add you must have power hooked to the line side for it to work. I tried to make it work right out of the box playing around with it to no avail. I stepped out to the garage and got a extension cord with just the male part on it and hooked the (cut off) female end to the controller. Placed a little light bulb socket on the load side and worked great. In my opinion this is a nice little item to have when you want to control something at a distance. It is also rated for 30 amps which is what a clothes dryer or a water heater is rated at. 5 star for the price and quality...

I had an old Delta 1 HP dust collector that had seen better days. The two cloth bags leaked dust and I was concerned about the amount of small particle size dust that it was releasing into my shop. So I cannibalized the blower from the dust collector and plumbed the intake to my tablesaw and router table and a floor-sweep.I initially built a Thiene-type dust collector, and though it was a thing of beauty I found that I lost about 50% of the suction pressure due to turbulence. I bought an Oneida Super Dust Deputy from Amazon and initial testing indicated it moved a lot more air and made less noise (turbulence) than the Thiene separator made. But turning the blower on and off meant walking to the corner of the shop and reaching up high for the switch on the motor. One possible option to bring the switch within reach would have to wire the power to a switch located in a central part of my shop, but that would involve walking. And any safety equipment has to be convenient or it will never be used.I considered switching a remote relay via an Arduino and an IR transmitter/receiver module. But I figured there had to be a better way. There was. I searched for "Remote Switch" and found several units that would do the job. I chose this one because I wanted two remotes and needed to switch something over 30 A, which the blower draws while spinning up to speed.I installed the unit in a 6" x 6" PVC electrical box from the local big box store (they probably have them on Amazon, too. I didn't check.) I wired a grounded male electrical plug to the input terminals and a similar female line receptacle and twisted the ground wires together with a wire-nut. I decided I wanted to have indicator lights to tell me when the remote switch had power to it, and when it was switched on. The green LED is always on and indicates that 120VAC is available, and the red light goes on when the relay is closed and current is available at the output.I tested the remotes and found they work as they should. I can walk some distance outside my shop and turn on the dust collector. So the operational range is quite good. So now I can turn my dust collector on and off from anywhere in my shop using the two remotes which I keep hanging on short cords attached to the tablesaw and the miter saw.

Never worked. The light on the box would not turn on. I know it is wired correctly and connections are good because I swapped this switch with an identical working unit from another seller and still no light. I missed the return date as well, so now I have a $20 piece of trash.

I was looking for a remote switch to power my large shop vac from Harbor freight. Easy to install and I have a remote in 2 locations in my shop. Not sure how long the the remote battery lasts. It's small size fits in any location.
