This meat thermometer lives up to it's claims. It is very durable. It reads the temperature quickly and with great accuracy. The display is legible. The instructions given with the product are good. I am quite fond of this meat thermometer. I have had fancy and cheap meat thermometers in my time, and this one is my favorite. It is so easy to use, clean, and compact.

Replaced an existing meat thermometer with this one. I wanted one with magnetic base to stick onto grill stand as that works well for me. Seems to measure accurately and quickly. Getting used to the lower "suggested cooking temp" scale compared to the scale on my old thermometer. I find myself exceeding suggested temps listed on this thermometer because we were satisfied with old "suggested cooking temp" scale. "Motion On" is nice and makes ease of use; but I prefer an on/off button/switch. I move my grill around a lot (which turns on thermometer that is magnetized to the stand) and find I am using batteries quickly compared to my other thermometers. Unit seems durable and is easy to handle with the shape .

The product is sturdy and easy to handle. It turns off automatically when the probe is snapped back to the closed position with a click sound that confirms closure. It automatically turns on when the probe is released. There is a tinny button that converts the reading from F to C degrees. The is the only button that the device has. The LCD display is clear red and the digits are large and easy to read. The enclosure for the battery (one battery) is secured by a screw which is an excellent idea for this device, since it reduces the chance of accidentally dropping the battery cover and the battery. This adds sturdiness to the device. It is clearly a well-designed device. I did not yet test the accuracy or the speed of measurements.

I have an older temperature probe that has very small numbers that are hard to read. This one is much better. It uses a standard AAA battery that is included and is pre-installed. There is no off/on switch. The device turns on when you open the probe and stays on for about 30 seconds if not in use. This is a good feature to conserve the battery. It has a unique position sensor built in that detects movement and orientation. If you turn the probe upside down the display will also turn so that it is always readable. Any movement of the probe also wakes the display if it is in energy conservation mode. The device has a hole at one end to hang it up or you can just attach it to any ferrous metal and the built-in magnet with hold it in place. There is a lock button and a button on the back to change the units from F to C. The device can be manually calibrated, but mine was very accurate. I really like how rapidly it can detect a change in temperature and how easy it is to read. The only minor issue was that there was no screwdriver in the package as indicated. I plan on using this product when I am cooking as I did with the old one. Overall, the product performs so well that despite missing the screwdriver, is still worthy of 5 stars.
