Before purchasing this or any supplement product, I researched the ingredients and their benefits to see if this is something I want.I’ve been taking this product for about six weeks for sinus health. So far, so good.It has only one ingredient listed in the “Supplement Facts”: Serrapeptase, which is a proteolytic enzyme, god for sinus health.The time release is a nice feature, to aid in absorption into the body.I’m concerned about one “other” ingredient I consider to be controversial. This means the FDA considers it GRAS (generally regarded as safe) but some doctors and researchers disagree: magnesium stearate.I am happy to be taking these, as part of my regiment of supplements.

As I am getting older, I am noticing more parts of my body hurting when I never had pain in those areas before. I was getting tired of taking NSAIDs all the time. My friend recommended these and I figured it was worth a shot. I feel like my young self again. No more knee and back pain like I was getting when I was waking up. I can actually get out of bed with much less pain. I like that these are pretty small in size and are easy to swallow. They seem to be a good quality as there is no extra powder in the bottle itself. I feel like I have more energy or maybe it's just because I don't have as much pain as before.

However, I decided to take a chance on this version by Enerex when I saw that they are based in North America (B.C., Canada, specifically), and so far I've been pleased to find that I can't tell the difference between this product and my usual tried-and-true favorite brands.The company states that these capsules are non-GMO, phthalate-free, and gluten-free - I am certain that there's no gluten, as it has a terrible effect on me in even minute amounts. Each capsule is a full 120,000 SPU serving, is smooth and easy to swallow, and has no aftertaste that I can detect. I take serrapeptase on a regular basis.I take it because it breaks down scar tissue, cysts and fibrin. I have had really good results from taking it.When I saw the opportunity to try this Enerex brand, I jumped at the chance. This has a really high amount per capsule, 120,000 SPU. My regular brand only had 40,000. And with 180 servings, this will last me a long time.I take this Enerex brand about 3-4 times per week. I would take it more often, but it needs to be taken on an empty stomach, and I find it harder remembering to take it before I eat. It’s important to take on an empty stomach, because if you have any protein in your stomach, it will work on that protein instead of searching for the cysts or fibrin etc you want removed from your body.I have no problem swallowing these capsules, and there is no nasty smell.I find the price very reasonable considering how high the amount and how many capsules. Serrapeptase is not a cheap supplement.I’m very happy with these.

I first encountered serrapeptase as a minor, synergistic component of Terry Naturally's PEA supplement, which I was taking for fibromyalgia. When I looked up serrapeptase I discovered that it was the reason that PEA supplement had to be taken at least 30 minutes before eating or else at least 2 hours after meals, which I find inconvenient (not impossible, but definitely bothersome since I'm already juggling other supplements' and medications' dosing guidelines).I wanted to give this high-dose, time-release serrapeptase supplement a try as a safer alternative to NSAIDs (which I only rarely resort to), but unfortunately it's too rough on my GI system on an empty stomach, even with plenty of water to buffer it. I'm also concerned about some of the other potential adverse effects, so I don't think this is the right product for me.I wasn't familiar with this Canadian brand, Enerex, before. The supplement arrived well sealed and its expiration date is about 18 months from when I received it. However, although the product listing on Amazon states that it's 3rd-party tested, the fine print on the label says only that it's 3rd-party tested to verify that it's gluten free, so the listing's claim seems deceptive. There's also a typo in the distributor's name on the label, which is sloppy and hardly inspires confidence.
