Works for thick kitties too! 100% recommend!
I am thoroughly impressed!!! I originally got this so my boyfriend won’t have to do too much maintenance with my cats’ boxes when I’m gone for three weeks, and I waited til prime day to look again after weeks of eyeing these and reading reviews, and I was super nervous to commit, but after almost a week I have NO REGRETS!!I have four cats, 9lbs (female), 12lbs, 16lbs, and 17lbs (males). Two are 4 years old, the other two are 6 and 7 years old.I did NOT expect my chubby boys to be able to fit in this thing because it LOOKS too small. But it’s honestly the absolute perfect size!!!Don’t judge it until your cats use it, because I was VERY close to sending it back before my big boys used it and saw it suits their size wonderfully. They go potty, it does a leveling out of the litter to cover the waste - so rolls back halfway, forward a bit, then back in place - , then in a few minutes, it rolls all the way and dumps out the clump in the bin attached underneath. You can put it in manual mode too so you can press the leveling and cleaning buttons yourself if you want to. And there is a shield it comes with that you place over the grate so you can empty all the litter at once as well.My litter still doesn’t stink whatsoever since it cleans the waste up right away. There are min and max lines so you put the correct amount of litter in and add more when needed.I use the cheapest clumping litter from Walmart - Special Kitty, and it works great with it.I’ve changed the bag once so far in just under a week (about to change it again today) and you can’t smell any of the waste whatsoever except getting a waft when it empties the newest waste into the bin, which is expected. My cats sit and watch it every time it spins in absolute wonder. Hahaha. One of them took a couple days to use it but once I removed the other boxes and he saw the other cats all use it, he used it also!He a was afraid at first because the barrel DOES shift/lean/wobble forward a little when they get in from their weight. But not much, just startled him a bit. So skittish cats can take a bit longer to warm up.But it is also super quiet!!!My house doesn’t smell like I have cats anymore. It’s amazing. :DMine do tend to jump out and fling litter everywhere (as opposed to stepping out) but I think that’s a personal issue. Haha!Minor dislikes:1. How the bag is held in the bottom; there are two rubbery pieces on one end but not on the opposite end so you have to spread it and make it stay in place with your hands and put the loop through a little gap by the front clip. So there’s a possibility of it slipping off the unsecured corners, but it empties into the more secured end so it hasn’t been an issue. I would just prefer the assurance that it will stay in place fully once I slide the drawer back in.They do suggest using only those bags (of course $$ lol) but I haven’t tried with any others because it comes will a full roll.2: The grate that the clean litter goes into when it rolls back can get little clumps stuck on the other side of it so maybe making them closer together would help. But very very few have slipped through so it hasn’t caused any smell or dirtiness concerns, and I feel like this happens with scoops and other sifting boxes I’ve used waaaaay more. Kind of an unavoidable thing with litter. These feel very minor to me, though, because it’s still doing everything I hoped it would. No real issues with it yet, though, and two of my cats SERIOUSLY dig and haven’t punctured the soft litter bed…as of now.Honestly if there’s one thing I do not regret stretching my budget for (I paid around $160 I think, on prime day and I’m wildly cheap, admittedly), it’s DEFINITELY this and it’s definitely the most affordable of the ones I’ve looked at with decent reviews.Get it! Promise you won’t regret it unless you happen to get a dud. :P

Relatively easy to set up, works well, cat uses it without problems, cost effective
I got this to replace a self-cleaning box that required crystal litter, as that option stopped being very cost-effective. The crystal litter initially seemed good, but lately the litter needed to be changed almost weekly--definitely not cost effective.I read a lot of reviews and this was the box I chose. I purchased it a few weeks ago and waited to write my review till I had seen what it would do over time. I purchased a 42 pound box of clumping clay litter to go with it.Initial set up was not difficult really, but had a few challenges. I had trouble putting the first leg in place--but once I figured it out, the rest went on easily. You MUST read the directions--and keep reading them as you go. It isn't self-explanatory, but that's not bad, just a statement.Putting the bag into the box at the bottom seemed a bit of a challenge for me--I think it was just me. It is simple--but the pictures made it less clear. Open the bag completely, lay it in the bottom lengthwise according to the shape of the bottom of the tray. Pull the yellow draw string through the slot at the front and hook it around the notch below. The back draw string just stays where it is. Simply position the upper edge of the bag around the top "shelf" or edge of the tray, replace the lid, and clip the handles closed to hold it in place, then slide it under the litter box. Takes about a minute the second time you do it!I read reviews about how awful it smells when you open the box to clean it. Look, you have a cat. They smell. Supposedly you can unclip the handle and pull the yellow draw string to close the bag before you remove it, but I haven't tried that. I just open it, remove the lit, pull the drawstring closed and replace the bag and lid. It takes all of a few seconds. I did have one bag split open as I was doing it and I had to carefully place it in a different trash bag. Things happen. I had also gone more than a week without changing it and it was very full. With one cat I have to empty it every week. The week I went more than a week without emptying it, the round part turned upside and the cat couldn't get in and came to find my husband. He had to unplug and reset it. We think it happened because the bottom was full. Just a warning. It never happened again once I started doing it weekly. The outlet we are using is half-way up a wall and over about a foot from the box and the cord is plenty long enough to reach. We did put a little set of steps below the box for the cat. It seems very high to jump into. And she does track a lot of litter out, but she is also the messiest cat I have ever met in my life. Even her food is all over the kitchen! But she got into it and used it from the time we set it up without any problems.I definitely recommend it. I calculated the use of this litter to crystal litter for the other box and I will save in litter the cost of this box (I did get it on sale) in less than a year. I have added litter twice in a month and still have at least two more "adds" left in the 42 pound box. I can get a 42 pound box of litter at Costco for less than $17, and I calculated the savings based on the Amazon price which was about $25.

Priced Right, Easy Set-up, Works as Promised ... and the Cats Like It!
This self-cleaning litter box has been a total game changer in our house. It was very easy to set up and immediately impressed us with how efficiently it handles both poop and pee clumps. The odor control is excellent, which makes a huge difference, and the box runs so quietly that our cats aren’t bothered at all.We also appreciate the large capacity waste bags—less frequent emptying and no mess. On top of that, it’s proving to be well worth the price, especially with the savings on litter over time. The only improvement we’d love to see is for the unit to be just a little bigger—our two 12-pound Siamese boys fit fine, but some extra room would make it perfect.Overall, we’re very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to any cat owner looking for convenience, cleanliness, and long-term savings.

Makes indoor kitties less smelly
It was bigger than I expected, but I've never had an automatic liter box before. The cats fit well in it and it worked as it should. It wasn't great for 2 cats who like to do their business together because 1 cat would jump out and it would start to move. Super easy to change the bags and definitely made liter box cleaning easier. We used Shweat scoop and it worked great. Loved the price, too!!
