The book was out of print. I was sooo happy to find one in such good condition! It is invaluable to a first grade teacher.

A great resource for struggling readers.

I'm brand new to teaching and had heard much about this book. It is a true asset when it comes to phonics and to showing that words come from individual sounds that can be shuffled around to make new words. I totally recommend it.

I own a number of Patricia Cunningham's books. I use many of her techniques. But this book is the best of the "Making Words" series for teachers who want a 'systematic sequential' plan. Other Making Words books seem to be for better spellers. My students needed the careful pacing, beginning with predominately short vowels, that is found in this book. This is the book I use every day!

My absolute favorite way to teach spelling. Dr. Patricia Cunningham is a genius.

This is a great book for easy phonics lessons in a progression. Fits nicely as a supplement to any reading curriculum. Easily and quickly taught but does require some prep work.
