Work Great For Box Joints
The uncut sale of these make them perfect for cutting box joints. These are very sharp and appear to be well made. A nice purchase for the price.

2 of 3 bits are very good
The two smaller bits have been very good tools. however, the 1/2" bit went dull the first time I used it (on pine, no less, at 1/4 " depth!). the tip burned and the rest will barely even cut. very uneven quality, which is disappointing since I have always been very pleased with mlcs products before.update! since the above review, I have found mlcs has a 3 year warranty that they honor even if you purchase through amazon. they acted quickly and I am being shipped a brand new bit. outstanding! review now is 5 stars.

Spiral up cut router bits by MLCS
I purchased these bits to be used in my box joint jig. (Some folks call them 'finger joints').I have found them to be a good 'Utility Grade' bit at an affordable price, and will serve me well. These bits are not meant to be used in a production line, but for guys like me who use them for a few hours at a time.I have purchased some import bits and found them to be close, but not to exact size; these MLCS bits are a true 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch. And they match the brass setup blocks for a perfect fit every time ... see me smile.

Spiral Bits at a good price
Pricing these individually tells the story. Get the set to save money. These are solid carbide so should stay sharp a long time. Thats good, because who can sharpen a spiral bit. They are upcut, meaning they pull chip away from the cutting edge. This is good for blind holes where you need to get the chips out of the hole.

Works great on plywood, no more tear-out
I tried using these bits on plywood and the results were great. No more tear-out. Unfortunately, they did not cut through hardwood nicely without shredding the edges off. I was using 3/4" white oak to make box joints, and just ripped them out horribly. Then I used the same bits on 1/2" plywood and seemed to create smooth edges. I gave 5 stars because I bought them for my plywood issues. For hardwood, I just use quality straight bits.

Great bits for cutting box joints
I needed a 1/4" bit for my new box joint jig and looked at this set since it had all of the sizes I needed. The cuts were perfect and the box went together easily. Still sharp after over 100 cuts!

Too bad they don't have 6 stars
These stay sharp and cool and give smooth single-pass cuts in softwood to 3/8", clean cuts with heating or gumming in most hardwoods. The more even contact makes the workpiece less jumpy and easier to hold, as well. If you've got a lot of joinery to do, you owe it to yourself to step up from your straight-cuts and get a set of these. Be careful though, these are SOLID CARBIDE, not carbide tipped- so don't drop them because they can shatter if hit hard enough.
