CURRENT Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2019

I have been purchasing CMDTs for several years and I have been pleased with the excellent summaries and updated information on a variety of diseases and treatments. However, when I come across serious errors in the text it turns me off. I am not talking about typo errors or grammatical errors but serious errors of mechanism etc. An example may be found on page 1108 under subsection "C.Medical" as follows, "Disulfiram inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase..." That is not correct! Disulfiram inhibits aldehyde dehydrogenase. The editors should have done better.

I am not write a review type person, but I could not help but to shout it to the roof top as to how amazing this book is! Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2019 is well worth the money! I am a new practicing NP and this resource has saved me so much time. Rather than thumbing through pages/pages of guidelines, this book puts need-to-know information in a succinct and easy to find manner. It is a hefty book to lug around, but I don’t mind because it helps me get through my patient care days with ease!

I’m a techie but I love to have my guidelines at my hand. Very minor discrepancies but it’s a decent resource. For a 2019 book, I expected the seizure guidelines to be updated among a couple of other topics that have recent guideline updates, but in the end, the book isn’t wrong, but I expected a tad more in some areas.

I have an older copy of this book that I have used for years. I love it and it has held up really well. Immediately after opening this book The glue broke that was holding it and it began splitting. I tried returning and getting a SECOND book that did the SAME THING (within 40 pages of the previous attempt). There is some great material in these books but I was very gentile with them and they should not have come apart that easily. I am returning this one and will not be trying again with this book. I'll consider trying again with the 2020 version since the CURRENT series is a great reference but there are a lot of good references out there and if this happens again then I will move on. It looks like there is another review here with the same problem.-1 star since I have had this happen twice.

I ordered this book in December but didn't start using it until late January. Almost immediately (within 3 uses) the binding on the book broke and pages started to become loose. Yes, its a book that gets updated annually, but that is no excuse for the poor quality. I am not sure if this is a common problem? I am not aggressive with my books at all and have never had this problem before...

love this book! came in excellent condition. it gives just the right amount of detail. love the little boxes of quick recap/most important facts for each condition/dx.

Up to Date is very hard to go through for a student or a residents. I think "Current" is the single best textbook of medicine and it is eminently readable and usable

This book is easy to read and the topics are pretty concise and to the point. The information layout for each section is the same, so once you get the pattern down, you can easily find what you want to read about. Has up to date information,

It is always an enjoyable reading and l like it's clarity of contents

Muy buena la información y como es presentada, me parece bien ordenados los capítulos, en cada párrafo puede encontrar información nueva o interesante. Las hojas delgadas, si, pero no tan fragiles, la tapa blanda, colores sobrios a mi juicio. ¿Porque no le otorgo las 5 estrellas que parezco darle? Desafortunadamente ya no cuenta con la parte de Medicina Alternativa en la forma impresa y eso fue una de las razones por la cual lo compré (tenía la version 2006 que si viene impreso). Aún así te da acceso en línea donde puedes aprovecharlo (Y también, al parecer el resto del libro)

Completo e aggiornato come sempre, su praticamente tutte le discipline internistiche! Per me ottimo per studio, ripasso e consultazione quotidiana!

Increíble libro, preciosas imágenes, bien actualizado. Información desde conceptos super básicos de prevención hasta fisiopatología y tratamiento de enfermedades más complejas, dividido todo en aparatos y sistemas. Excelente libro para personas autodidactas
