GREAT set of knives.... especially the LONG one with the SERRATED edge.
I was exposed to these knives by a friend and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with the SERRATED edge knife (aka "Utility" knife). I use it all the time to cut rolls, buns, English muffins, and Chiabatta bread. Stainless steel guarantees they will not rust nor deteriorate. They should last you a LIFE TIME... with good care.

Is a need
As a cheef this is one of my tools to be used, i like it because is rough witch most the time if need it more than the fine (as diamond grain) the balance is just perfect grip is ideal, affordable, and love the little sharpener to make a new edge that come incorporated, cleaning is just a breeze, and has the perfect length to be hanging in my cart beside that has a low profile look,

Superb in all respects
Verdict: at this price, this is a total no-brainer. Buy it as a main knife, a gift, a spare, it's a steal of a deal. This knife is made from a single piece of high quality, mirror finish, high carbon steel. The handle is riveted. This basic design is the same as high end chef knives. The handle is extremely comfortable, and the knife is perfectly balanced. My knife came with a plastic sheath. Since I bought it to take to parties and events, this is perfect. It's a santoku, but on the long side for a santoku. It's thin, which it should be, but some people may find it on the light side in terms of weight. If you are used to a shorter santoku, the length takes a bit of getting used to but it also means you can use it as a Chef knife. Out of the box, it was professionally sharpened, unusual for any knife. After a minute with sharpening sticks (Idahone), this knife reached an edge that is as sharp as any name brand Chef knife, and could easily cut a piece of paper. Sharp enough for any kitchen use. The steel is excellent. Because it is a one-piece blade, there is a smooth, seamless transition from the blade to the handle, with no separation which makes it super easy to clean. See photo. There is a slight curve to the cutting edge which allows for chopping or dicing with a rocking motion. There are little dimples, called grantons, which supposedly allow for less sticking, but on any knife these are mainly decorative. Superb in all respects, with the minor caveat that some may prefer a shorter or heavier knife, which is a matter of taste.

great plain edged knives( your serrated knives not so much)
the paring knife is wonderful the larger serrated knife not so much now I barely use it. I reorder the same size knife with a plain edge and that did the work just fine. I don't recomend the serrated knife. but I highly recommend the plain edgded ones

Great Quality , Amazing price!
I had a Dick smaller chefs knife for 30 years which I still love , but I broke the point and lost quite a bit having it reground. I bought the way less expensive Dick brand knife, and it's blade is flimsy and it was just barely worth what I paiid for it. At the same time I happened to buy the CuisenDrt paring knife, and was AMAZED at the high quality and balance for $6.45! I bought another, plus the chef's knife and a steel. The Chef's knife is a bit larger than I personally like, but the full tang, and again, the balance is like a give away at this price! It holds an edge, and while I am sure a professional chef might choose a more refined knife, this is " ALL I NEED". And then some! If you have non professionals, kids, etc. using your knives, I would pick a few of these to put in the kitchen! The difference with knives costing ten times more will likely be moot to a regular, everyday user! Fantastic deal that will doubtfully not last much longer!

Best knife for the price. No bull.
I'm a chef. Been behind the lines for 36 years. I have seen knives come and go, mostly go, and without much difference between them. I bought a Cuisinart Santoku for cheap at a Tuesday Morning outlet for $6. One of the best knives I ever had, so I figured they used the same process on the 8". It's BETTER. It has a heavier weight without feeling bulky, anywhere you grip feels solid (past the handle and on the blade for more force, farther back for finesse.) It has a great edge right out of the box and keeps that edge much longer than more expensive knives. I rarely need to take a steel or stone to it. I just run it backwards across another good knife at a 20° or so angle to drive back the little curls on the old edge. The knife cover grips the knife well too. I am so impressed with this, I bought and extra for home and one for my mother in law. Truth be told, I shouldn't be saying how great they are because now all you folks are going to buy them up, but I can see this one lasting for years anyway. Just buy it, dang it. Patrick N.

Very well made knife sharpener
What I like about this sharpener: 1. High quality 2. Allows you to sharpen your knives in two different manners 3. Nice weight and feel 4. Works very well What I don't like 1. It is longer than most sharpening rods because of the sharpening slots. It makes it too large for most knife rolls. I strongly recommend this product.
