Quiet and effective
Good: VERY quiet in operation; this would work in a home theater PC. The copper insert probably buys a few watts of extra heat transfer.Bad: Nothing significant. It took me a couple tries to get it solidly in place but that was my inexperience, not the cooler.Bottom line: A little more expensive than average, but appears to be worth it. Five stars.

Not as big as original.
Not quite a big as the original Intel E97378-001, but runs good and was easy to install.

Great upgrade over the 65 watt stock coolers.
These coolers are for 84 watt TDP quad core CPUs and are a significant upgrade over the stock 65 watt and below coolers. Weirdly they look about the same, and are the same height/size, but these have a copper core, different fin design, are heavier, and a higher max fan speed compared to the 65 watt Intel coolers. The impressive thing is this cooler outperforms, or matches, 4 or 5 larger coolers I tried from Mascool, Artic, and others (see my other reviews) when used on an 84 watt quad core Haswell i7. It's quieter under light load than many aftermarket coolers, is better made, easier to install, and the Intel fan will likely last much longer, I've never had an Intel cooler die (although a few eventually got noisier after thousands of hours of use). You can barely hear this cooler at its lowest PWM speed with the case open from a foot or two away. And used on a 65 watt or lower dual core Haswell, the CPU will run quite a bit cooler than with the cooler it came with. That means lower fan speeds and less noise. Just make sure you select the most quiet cooling option in BIOS so the fan will run at minimum speed until the CPU heats up.

Useless. P
I was able to secure the HSF to the motherboard but the heatsink wouldn't touch the CPU at all. Useless.P.S. I had a LGA1155 motherboard so it should have fit. I'm sure it would work well if it actually made any contact with the CPU at all...

10/10
This is my second time replacing a cooler in my PC, and it was super easy! No need for any tools to install and is very quiet during use. Came with thermal paste which makes it such a great product for the price. Great packaging aswell and in mint condition.

Works fine now... Initially had fan speed and motor issues.
Lost my old stock fan during a move and I just wanted an identical replacement seeing as I had no problems with the original. While I am no longer having any problems with this fan, (Which is rare for computer hardware parts that I've bought in the past) when I first installed it the fan would speed up to %100 and then gradually go back down. This was not only audibly irritating, but also did damage to the fan motor. The abrupt changes in speed forced me to actually disassemble the fan and replace the motor. Since I didn't want to have the same problem again, I tweaked a few settings in BIOS menu on my ASUS p8z77 Motherboard which seemed to completely alleviate the problem! I take one star off only because I had the same fan weeks before that worked and he identical one had compatibility problems with the same MOBO I've always had. This is a warning to and ASUS MOBO users, don't install until you know it's compatible otherwise expect to dish out some cash on a fan motor!

Best bang for the buck
Great deal on open box for under 9$ the only thing I had to do was put my thermal paste on it. Came with a copper core ....aluminum..quite fan keeps the cpu cool even over clocking it from 4x3500 to 4x4000 under 50c .. I used a ceramic thermal paste.I did have a water cooler on it and the cpu mount broke for a 80$ water cooler that did the same thing as this fan .. I say don't waste your money on a water cooler it's just simply is not worth it!
