Love this flashlight! I’ve had several small ones that are mostly plastic but this one is metal, larger, and has a better and brighter beam. It has a strobe setting too. It’s easy to handle and I like the extra weight. The quality is very good too! Serves my needs, especially those random power outages! Highly recommend!

I hemmed and hawed for a long time as to whether - from the description - this flashlight would be "too big" / overkill. It's not. I wouldn't want it any larger in size, but it still fits comfortably in my hands. (I am 5ft 10 male with moderately large hands). This is NOT however, an EDC (Every Day Carry) flashlight. This is your "Unleash The Kraken" portable searchlight. Don't shine this in someone's eyes unless it's strictly for self-defense. PROS: The light output on the highest setting (900 lumens) is awesome - it rivals police tactical lights. Zoom function works well. It has a Cree LED bulb - high quality light with a colder but not icy cold color rendition. No center dead spot that I can see. Reasonably thick and rugged case. Could probably be used as a club if needed. I'm not sure it would come out of an altercation functional / undamaged but, for certain, this is NOT a wimpy flashlight. There is a "Low" setting which is still pretty gutsy and full. Runs on 3 C-cell type batteries. You are provided with an initial set of 3 alkaline batteries in the package from the git-go. That alone is worth 3 bucks. $20.00 in comparison to true tactical (marketed as) flashlights is dirt cheap for the output you are getting. It should run a long time on 3 C-cell batteries. Manufacturer says it can sustain a 3 foot drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CONS: Only IPX4 rated (I'm surmising this from it's close cousin listed on the same Amazon order page). This means this flashlight CANNOT be submerged or even heavily drenched. It will only handle * minor * splashes. This is what you are giving up for getting this kind of horsepower in a flashlight this low priced. The rear cap screw threads were a bit fussy at first to mate and get the cap screwed on. For about a minute I was getting puzzled / frustrated there trying to get the battery cap on. (I own many flashlights, this is not normally an issue). One just has to be a bit patient - the threads are not stripped in any way, just the pitch of the screw threads was unusual enough to cause fussing - in an emergency that might be an issue - but I don't envision changing batteries often with this flashlight. There is no belt clip if you want such a thing. You aren't going to stuff this in a pocket, it will take the full focus of one of your hands, your arm that holds this is unlikely to be multitasking. The strobe to me, on any flashlight is an annoynace but that's just me. I've never had to flag down a helicopter from a disaster zone. The strobe function is there if you want it. GRAY AREA / OPINIONS VARY: I *** WANTED *** a NON-rechargable flashlight. Batteries from a certain W pharmacy chain store are quite good, keep in storage for probably 8 years and are affordable. I didn't want to fuss or depend on the custom lithium batteries and a USB charger. I wanted God-Like output and throw NOW and immediately after a battery swap. Here it is at $20.00. Now, would I make this my first flashlight? I don't think so. For your first flashlight I suggest this: ThruNite Archer 2A V3 LED Flashlight https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZJBWBR5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details SUMMARY: This 3 C-cell Everbrite is one heck of a house emergency flashlight at a quite reasonable price. Since this is the "honeymoon" I'm starting at 4 stars. If it goes 2 years without giving me grief I will probably raise to 5 stars. For it's scope, purpose and price I can recommend this. Don't be scared! Order The Kraken! LOL
