Shimoda Core Unit Small for DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras (520-091)

Excellent quality, although rather expensive but there is nothing like it elsewhere. I was looking for "dividers" that did not fold under the weight of gear. This unit protects my camera with lens and is a joy to use in my Lowepro bag.

I bought the small cube for my X30 backpack, however, it does not fit well compared to my medium cube. For some reason, this insert is much taller, which causes a weird bulge in my backpack. Build quality is great, what you would expect from Shimoda, but it’s pricey for what it is. Granted, it does come with plenty of dividers and an additional bag with a zipper and loop holes that can technically convert this into a sling if you needed. If you just need a small cube insert, a cheaper option might suit you better. Let’s just say if I had a chance to go back, I wouldn’t have purchased it.

These match the pack but they are cheaply built and overpriced while not really serving a purpose.

Perfect addition to my medium mirrorles core unit.

This Core Unit is the right size to hold and protect a mirrorless camera and a couple of lenses with a few other photo necessities. It sits at the bottom of my Shimoda Action X50 backpack leaving enough space for backpacking gear: tent, sleeping bag + pad, clothes, food, stove + fuel, etc. That is what I was looking for, so I am pretty happy, at least for the time being!

Arrived early- description was spot on.

This is not a smaller equivalent to the medium cube. It is CONSIDERABLY less sturdy. I may end up using my medium one and taking out inserts to put stuff other packing inside it.
