Just follow the instructions, and don't do like some of the DIY videos
Very happy with this product. First time using this, and was very skeptical after reading reviews, looking at pictures, and watching videos. But we are very pleased with the outcome. I do not have a before picture, as I really thought this was going to turn out bad. It was a solid white door, with no grain. I followed the instructions and didn't have any problems. The hardest part was taping off and making sure everything was straight. There was only enough in the kit to do one side, but maybe that's in the description. The only thing you need that isn't in the kit is scissors to cut the tape straight and a roller pan. Just very time consuming, but we are happy with the results.1. Take your time when taping off and make sure it's straight. Tape off three rows of tape on the sides of the part you are using the mitt on in order to make longer, straight strokes without touching the other part you're not putting using the mitt on.2. The first coat of the stain where you are using the mitt is the most important. The lines made in this step will be the main ones you see in finished product. Make sure they are straight when you use the mitt.3. Follow the instructions exactly as they are.4. In between coats of the stain, wrap your paint tray with brush in plastic. This will keep it ready for the next coat. I did this door over a two day period, and the stain and brush were good to go on the next day by doing this.

Just do it you wont regret it.
This stuff is the best! Very easy to use the company has great videos that help you understand the steps. I’ve done two garage doors and now my front door. And no matter how many times I tell the neighbors no it’s just paint. They think I got a new garage door and front door. In terms of bang for your buck this is the cheapest way to totally change the appearance of your home. I cannot believe how well this stuff works. And what really sealed to deal with me when it comes to Gianni is their customer service. Their team answers the phone. They’ll walk you through any questions and they know the product very well. Also, the kit has everything you need in it. Literally everything you need. It’s very thoughtful.

Coolest transformation ever!
I honestly wasn’t expecting this to work. Despite all the other reviews, I was certain I’d screw it up somehow. I had an interior plain white swinging door with zero trim, panels, or anything remotely interesting, so I gave it a shot anyway. And…HOLY COW I’m obsessed!!I ordered the Honey Oak and I also got one of those rubber “stamp” kits that you drag and tilt because I wanted more pronounced wood grain. I have no idea what wizardry these paint folks have up their sleeves but the color is incredible. Trust the process: the first coat is sort of a bland tan, but once you apply the second coat…oh goodness. I applied one coat of the gel stain (darker color), dragged my stamps, let that dry, then did one additional coat with no stamps. I’m so pleased with how this turned out!! First pic is after the first coat of stain and stamps, second pic is after second coat of just stain. It’s a bit lighter in person.

Love it!!!
I love the way it turned out but now my fear is that it will scratch off easily. Is there anything I can use to make it durable?

Fantastic
Omg! This product is the BEST! I redid my steel door and the wood around it. My door turned out awesome. It is very easy to use. Just follow the directions. The paint quality is very nice. It doesn't have a glow! Very easy to clean up. It does dry fast. In my opinion, this is the next best thing to teal wood look.

Easier than you think. Love my door. For my double front door I needed to buy extra product.

Highly Recommend for Easy DIY
Kit came with everything needed except a tray and sander, making it a super easy, fairly quick process. I did find the included mitt messier to use and ended up switching back to the brush method. I watched a few different videos with different techniques prior to application which I think helped, and I plan to seal it soon. Highly recommend. My door was navy prior and the primer did an excellent job covering.

Liked the finish product , the process needs refining .UPDATED 11/28/2021
I’m a thorough reviewer so I’ll try to summarize as best as I can . Overall, I like my final product, I bought two kits of the black walnut for both sides of my front door. My husband was weary and couldn’t envision it working , but by the end he was a bigger fan than me. That’s not to say there weren’t issues.Issue 1 - tape; I was skeptical that the process could be so quick given the use of tape to section off vertical and horizontal sections. I just envisioned the painters tape peeling off freshly painted base coat sections. When I did the first side I was so happy that this wasn’t an issue. However, the same cannot be said for side two. I did these on the same day- one side after the other. On side two I had multiple issues of tape pulling up the base coat . I even waited a full day to go paint the horizontal sections and it peeled up the vertical wood paint on one small section. So, I think it’s kind of a crap shoot. - it’s worth noting that before painting or moving on I did feel and look to see if paint was dry- no rushing on my part.Issue 2- the mitt; I didn’t think there would be much to complain about with the mitt , but it ended up being the worst part of the project. So , as I was doing the first side I noticed that the mitt deposited a lot of little fuzz on the door. When I did the second side I wrapped the mitt with painters tape and took the tape off to get any loose fuzz, it lessened the problem but it still was still there. The worst part of the mitt was the size of it and the plastic coating that protects the inner part (where your hand goes) and the outside (where the paint goes). There is a plastic in between to keep your hands clean and this plastic makes the mitt almost move uncomfortably and it becomes harder to control your motions because the outside goes one way and the plastic goes another. It sounds weird until you experience it.The size is also just so large that it just makes it hard to control all aspects of the mitt. I know we want free flowing natural motion but the mitt doesn’t need to be that large- most 32-36 inch doors have small vertical and horizontal sections and this just makes it clumsy.Nevertheless, I would repurchase it as it does make the door look very wood like and have the effect I wanted. I will also say that these kits and another brick kit I bought from this brand are so complete and nice. They have drop clothes , full rolls of painter tape, which is a great deal. I would have liked a tray for this kit , but you can’t get everything. I would say give it a go, just be aware you might have a few issues.UPDATED: since about September with the air conditioning off I’ve been noticing a weird melted plastic / varnish smell in my home. The smell would only hit me in the middle of the day when the sunlight beat down on the front of my house. I smelled the door and sure enough it emits this weird odor now. I think the sunlight and heat makes the smell come around , but my air conditioning keeping the door cooled but also messing with the air hid the smell.
