Love this stuff
So my pup (Oak) was diagnosed with the milder version of canine Lupus last Spring (2018). He started to slowly lose pigment on his nose during the Winter before, but he still had his appetite and energy so I just figured he was getting old. However, once the weather started to warm up, and we were spending more time outside, his nose began to burn and flare up something awful -- all cracked, bloody and scabby. The vet put him on antibiotics, and that helped but certainly wasn't a long-term solution. We live in Colorado and the sun can be pretty fierce here, especially when you get up into the mountains. I tried keeping him inside during the hottest part of the day, which also helped, but he was miserable. And so was I. Oak is my camping, backpacking, fishing buddy and I couldn't take him with me anymore. He was used to being able to go outside whenever he wanted, or wander around the woods and mountains, but even just a little while in the sun, unless it was early morning or late afternoon, and his nose would start to flare up again. So he basically spent most of last Summer stuck in the house. After still being careful and still having his nose flare up, I decided that wasn't going to be the case this year and started looking at sunscreens specifically for dog noses... and this product has made such a HUGE difference. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and I really can't say enough good things about it.For the first week I was keeping him inside during the day and applied it when I let him out after getting home. The results were absolutely amazing. His nose cleared up entirely and turned pink again (the pigment will never come back) instead of being a chapped and bloody mess after half an hour in the sun. Then I started putting it on in the morning and let him stay outside until I could get home on my lunch break. Still great results and no flare ups.The past week I've been letting him go outside whenever he wanted again, just like old times... and he did start to burn a bit (you can see it in the pic I included) but it's nothing like it used to be. I wish I took a before picture. And that spot could possibly be because I didn't apply enough, or because I was only putting it on in the morning. Now I'm applying it twice a day and suspect it will clear up entirely again. You have no idea (or maybe you do, since you're reading this) how *awesome* this feels. For the past year I've been thinking I couldn't take him anywhere in the daytime. No more trips to the mountains or even walks on a weekend afternoon. Now I've got my sidekick and best friend back...

Great Dog Sunscreen for Face, Nose, & Ears
This canine sunscreen really works!! I have a predominantly white AmStaff who has sunburned in the past and has cancerous skin lesions as a result. I use this stick sunscreen on his face and ears. It is easy to apply to his ears and nose and stays on well. Since I’ve been using this product, my dog has not been sunburned . I have repurchased this product numerous times and as long as I have my big baby, I will continue to purchase this product. Highly recommended.

Works Well
My dog has K-9 discoid lupus that causes his noise to become easily sunburned. His sun burned noise is often cracked, chapped, and severely blistered. The first application I noticed immediate effects on Bear's chapped noise. This lotion has an amazing moisturizing effect that started an immediate healing process. We've been trying different treatments and dog proof sun tan lotions for about 7 years and this by far has the best effect. We are able to let Bear stay outside more frequently now with less damaging effects from the sun. I am very happy about how well this products protects and helps protects and heal his noise. This product for sure has improved the quality of life for my dog.A minor challenging part of this product is applying it to his noise. The amount Bear needs on his noise can not be applied by simply rubbing the "butter" directly from the container. It is too much in a solid state. In lieu of that, I let it warm in the sun for about 10 minutes then break chunks of it off to smear into my hands until it becomes more like a lotion consistency. Once the product is a little more like a lotion it can be effectively rubbed into his noise. My recommendation to this company is to consider expanding their product line to a lotion form of this.I'm very please with how well this product works, but the amount of work it takes to apply this to Bear's noise is what gives this an overall rating of 4 vs 5 stars. If I was able to, I'd give this product a more accurate rating of 4.5 stars.***A side tip for those of you whose dog begins to immediately lick off the application has as soon as it is applied. I have a tennis ball or stick near by. As soon as the product is applied my dog begins to immediately lick lick lick it all off. i've learned to immediately throw the ball the second after it is rubbed in. He can't lick his noise with a ball in his mouth! We throw the ball for about 10 minutes giving this product plenty of time to absorb in. By the time we are done playing ball, Bear has forgotten to lick it off. This tip as nothing to do with this product, but something I've learned to do with other products over the years. This works technique works well plus makes the experience positive for your dog with extra play time :)

Amazing product
I moved to Florida, and my German Shepherd loved to sunbathe.I bought this sunscreen for his nose, but also found it works fantastic for his paw pads. His paw pads are nice and subtle again

Average among sunscreens, better as a skin softener
Handy Hound SnoutScreen is best as a nose skin softener. We don't see a much benefit as a sunscreen. Our dog doesn't like having it applied, it might not taste very good and since her tongue is constantly licking at her nose once we put it on, who knows if it is working. Among several products we've purchased to protect the pink nose our dog came with, we rate this one average. For your purchase price you do get 2 ounces which is more generous than many sun screens. After a morning at the beach, our dog still came home with an inflamed nose, but probably saved her a nasty sunburn. The waxy consistency helps keep nose skin soft and probably works better for skin softening than sun protection.
