Review: This drill chuck function great and the finish is great Review: Purchased this being a little skepticle because of price and wondered about quality. Not any issue so far. I went from my smallest bit to my biggest and every thing was true and no issues whatsoever. No issues tightening. Now I don’t do machinist work so don’t know if it has any off runout but I drilled 16 holes 9/16” in 1/2” tool steel in a jig and every one was right on the money. Well pleased!!

Have used the chuck on a drill press for several months. This chuck is being used on a small farm. I think the chuck has smoother action than others I have used in this price class. I think this is good value and is better than the original chuck that came with the drill press I use. You will need to freeze the tapered shaft (shank) and warm the chuck then assemble with pressure. I did this and have not had any problems with the chuck slipping on the shank. The largest hole I have drilled is 3/4" in mild steel.

What this is; A solid - inexpensive, bang around, reasonably accurate chuck for general utility use. For $35-$40 you will absolutely get your money's worth. What this is not; In any way a comparison to a genuine $600-$900 Jacobs or Superchuck. A tool you should ever expect to do mill spec work with. I expect most buying this here, expect to bore holes in lumber or mild steel ect, without any need for or means to measure extreme levels of accuracy. If it's a buttery smooth feeling, accurate to within .00001 chuck, I doubt you would ever be looking to Amazon to suit those needs anyway. I doubt any two of these chucks would have the exact same runout, or QC, and sure, it doesn't feel like a Superchuck, but, I can tell just from running a high quality brad point bit in the one I received, it is adequate for my intended purpose of this chuck. I'd suggest even if you do happen to receive a faulty one, it's likely a random QC issue and it'd probably be worth giving them another chance to replace it. I doubt finding as decent a new chuck for so little $ elsewhere. Cheers
