Tasty!
Delicious in Italian, Mediterranean, Moroccan recipes and even vegan stir fries.. I often eat it by itself, sometimes a whole head at a time. It is very mild, even sweet with a molasses undertone. Does not have the pungent smell or taste of raw or cooked garlic, more antioxidants too!

Savory sweet goodness.......
OMG! I. Lfe. This. Stuff!!!!!!!it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo very expensive but absolutely sweet flavorful & delicious. It's a game changer for dishes. It's soft & easy to peel because of its super ripeness or fermentation. Whatever. One of the most expensive food items I've ever purchased but not regretfully so. I'd definitely buy this many times again & recommend it highly. Wish it weren't so costly. Nonetheless, it will be kinda a staple in my kitchen. It's flavor is softer & sweeter than regular white hard bulb garlic. Easier on the breath too. Just a little. After peeling, u just mash it evenly & use where u want it. I usually use a paring. steak peeling knife to chop & mash it. So easy. I love garlic period. This version is such a happy tasty addition. It comes vacuum sealed & I store unused portions in the fridge in an airtight platic bag while the product is still in its original packaging bag. I make sure to roll down to the product & placing in a size accommodating sandwich like plastic bag & pressing all air out as I roll or squeeze & seal the bag. It preserves the garlic. Folks say u can leave it out of the fridge but I do not. Can't chance it. For me (in my opinion), it works best in the fridge. Just "gone getchu" some. I think you'll be happy.

My first taste of black garlic was from tiny little package from Trader Joe's. That one was amazingly sweet and soft with no hint of the familiar garlic taste. So I searched online to stock up on this great new savory treat. It seemed like this product was well liked and similar pricing, so I took the leap.Sorry to say this stuff doesn't taste anything like what I had before. These were dried and chewy, not melting in my mouth. But worst of all was the lingering bitterness. Hardly any sweetness at all. Did I get a bad batch? Do they just have a process that isn't as refined as the Trader Joe's product? I don't know, but I'm not sure what to do with this big bag of not so good tasting dehydrated garlic. I'm going to keep looking, or go back to TJs.EDIT:I've changed my rating from 2 stars to 3, because lo and behold when I gave that bag of garlic another chance, I came out with a bulb that was succulent and delicious. Still not as good as TJs, but tasty indeed. So out of 3 garlic bulbs eaten so far, 1 was terrible, 1 was ok, and 1 was great. Hoping the rest will be on the more consistently good. I promise to update again if there are more surprises as we go through them.

Garlic Candy - eat straight out of the bag!
Wonderful sweet taste and smell. There is another brand that comes pre-peeled and that sounds good, but I like to see the Real food in its whole form. We love garlic and this is an interesting new way to enjoy garlic for us. I have not used it for cooking yet, but it is a sweet treat right out of the bag. Easy to peel and has a nice shelf life on the counter within reach so the bag won't last very long.I would give it 5 stars but I have only tried this one brand so I can't say I love it over another brand - but I will buy this brand again becauseI love the taste, smell and you can see the whole bulb and it is a made in the USA product!

Black garlic say what!!!
Was optimistic about black garlic but I must say the flavor is not that bad. What I mean its mellow compared to regular garlic. With a molases taste thats not overly sweet. You have to peel the cloves out of shell which is slight cumbersome. But well worth it. Store in mason jar in fridge or sealed in zip lock bags.

PHENOMENAL PRODUCT
Sorry to learn of the 1% of people who had dismal experiences and that their reviews of same stay on indefinitely. This is indeed a phenomenal product and a great find. Since Trader Joe’s ceased carrying this product due to low sales, I was hard-presses not to find it again. So I went online to trusty Amazon, saw many companies making it. But I had to scroll slowly and carefully to select the right one, even if it’s still a gamble. I dismissed the bad reviews (although there were some good ones - like this one!), and took a chance and ordered from North American Black Garlic.I was more than pleased and very impressed with your product. Every bulb came full and complete, fresh and delicious, and very quick delivery as well.I will definitely be ordering again and wouldn’t even consider another company.Great job!!

Sour & messy
I have been eating Polar (China) black garlic & it is really sweet with large bulbs. Canada has similar black garlic. I have been trying to get away from the China versions because even though they are delicious, who knows what pollutants are in them. So I was happy to try this American made version. These are tiny little cloves that have to be peeled, really messy, and worst of all is the taste...VERY sour, no sweetness or nuttiness at all. I tried really hard to like them, but after 3 attempts, I just threw the bag in the trash. I don't know whats in the China version, but they're yummy.
