Umbilical Hernia Cord

When I went to my daughter’s doctor with my concern about her outie belly button, I was informed that it was in fact a hernia. The doctor told me that it would go away on its own over time and I shouldn’t worry about it. But my daughter is a crier and every time she cried, the hernia protruded more and more. It terrified me and I wasn’t sure if my daughter was in pain. I asked the doctor if I should get this hernia belt for my baby. I even showed her specifically the pictures from here. The doctor stated these belts don’t work and I should save my money. But I went with my gut instinct and ordered this. I AM SO HAPPY I DID. The picture I have attached was just after 3 days of my daughter wearing this hernia belt. She is now on her 3rd week of wearing it and her belly button looks even better. This has been such an amazing product. It is easy to use and clean (and my daughter had a few diaper blow outs while wearing this); I threw the belt in the washing machine and it came out like new. The sturdiness of it did not change, the Velcro remained the same. Sometimes I put it directly over her stomach/skin. Sometimes I put it over her onesie. It has not irritated her skin or caused a rash. It works the same whether on the skin or over clothes. My daughter did not become fussy or uncomfortable from wearing it. She’s even able to sit up in her stroller with no problem of the belt bothering her. I highly recommend this product! And for the price, it’s a steal!

My daughter’s pediatrician told me I could wait for the hernia to hopefully repair on it’s own or get a hernia belt. Looking at my daughters protruding umbilical cord, I decided I needed to do something now. Well, I wish I had taken before and after photos. I guess I bought this thinking it’s not going to work. Well, it worked. I bought it for my newborn when she was 2 months. I kept it on for the time frame they suggest and changed out the nubs as instructed. My baby’s hernia is gone. As long as you follow the instructions, yes, it does work. You have to sort of push in the belly button then hold it in place and put the nub on it. It’s weird but that’s what the instructions said and it worked well. The only suggestion I have is to change the placement of the Velcro. You have to pass it under the baby and strap it to the side. It’s just an awkward set up but manageable. Don’t put the belt on too tight either. Just enough pressure to keep it in place. DON’T FORGET TO PUSH IN THE BELLY BUTTON before placing the nub on it. This part is so important for proper healing. I saved the hernia belt in case I have another baby with the same issue. HIGHLY recommend this exact belt because this is the only one I’ve used so far. I am extremely pleased.

This worked in a week!! Baby had painful hernia and it’s gone!! My dr didn’t believe this would help but I figured what the heck. We even taped on the insert with medical tape to belly when the belt was washing and that worked too!

Easy to figure out how to put on baby, 3 naval button size options which is great. My son wasn’t even fazed while it is on. Has not been wearing long enough to see outcome yet but the design is very functional.

My daughter was born with a hernia and I have been using a belt on her the whole time. But every time I take it off in a few days it starts popping out again. However, this belt is much more comfortable around her tummy. And the largest velcro piece is perfect for starting out it really gets the hernia back in. It’s been about two weeks and I will be switching over to the smaller attachment. I’m hopeful, and will update if it actually worked! The only thing I would change about this is the way it closes. It closes in the back, and of you have a squirmy baby it can be a challenge. I would suggest making it come all the way around to the front for closing.

I didn’t use the belt but I used the Velcro pads and tapped it to the stomach to make sure they stayed in place. These really work. And much easier and cleaner than marbles or coins. It didn’t irritate babies skin or make him uncomfortable.

As long as the umbilical hernia is soft to push on, the belt has no use for it. As baby grows to 4-6 month and tummy muscle develops and the hernia gets pulled inside the tummy it’s own. The belt is just a myth but the muscle development does the job. Unless hernia is hard to push on then it needs a medical care. I bought it but didn’t use it because it was to thick for the baby to sleep with it plus learned from the pediatrician that it had no use for the hernia.

It solved the umbilical navel hernia within few months of use.

My daughter loves this belt, it's not just keep her hernia in, but somehow helps with gas. It's comfortable and easy to adjust. It took her about one day to get used to it, also it has to he taken off during rgw diaper change, but does not sedm to be difficult after you've done it a few times.
