Is this an actual model kit similar to the Trumpeter or Bandai Transformers kits?

It comes in pieces that are put into place. There are several different hand options and there is some articulation in the hands. Arm joints rotate, head, legs, and feet as well. I’m not sure what the Trumpeter or Bandai kits look like as this is my son’s first model.

Half built, not like a full blown model kit. It is almost 90% done. Just need to connect the torso to arms, legs and feet, then form the head :D

Yes and it's a nice Optimus prime figurine

Transform into truck?

No it doesn’t transform into his truck mode. It’s just a highly articulated, easy to put together model kit that has highly articulated joints
