How well does it prepare brown rice?

I got this rice cooker for my son. He has used it for brown rice and quinoa. He likes it much better than the more complicated one he had before.

Is the stainless steel nickel free?

I’m pretty sure nickel and chromium are included with all or most SS, but they are bound (needs salt and/or acidic food to release the metals). If you have a nickel allergy I don’t know (research further).. but I would much rather have SS than a non stick. This pot is 304 SS: “304 stainless steel is the most common form of stainless steel used around the world, due to its excellent corrosion resistance and value. It contains between 16 and 24 percent chromium and up to 35 percent nickel, as well as small amounts of carbon and manganese.”
