Good for teaching series and parallel circuits
This turned out to be a good product. Because I was working with a group from ages 6-16, I used all the parts except the wire. I used aluminum foil strips because they were easier to attached than the wire. All the other parts worked perfectly.

Great kit!
The directions were a little wordy but thankfully there are pictures! We used an X-Acto knife to take the coating off the wiring and the caps off the batteries. Thankful to have everything we needed in a kit for a descent price.

This was awesome to put together with my 8 year old
This was awesome to put together with my 8 year old. There were no instructions, but I emailed the company and they sent them to me. I really only wanted them because I wanted this to be his project to put together, but he needed my help with cutting/stripping the wire and I had to explain the simple circuit concept for him to really get it. Fun to do, and worked wonderfully. It was cheaper to buy this kit then purchase each component individually at a local electronics store.

The kit is great and is easy to use with scientists of all ages. Unfortunately, the positive and negative is not clearly marked on the bulb socket and we blew every bulb. The "alarm" sounds like my school's fire alarm system, but much quieter, which confused one of my kids. If you have any exceptionally literal kids, explain the sound to them first!

Excellent for student project
Thank you so much for this simple but very educational project. My 4th-grade grandson used it as one of his homework assignments ... "worked like a charm".It also provided the opportunity to learn how to strip end wires for connections to components.Thank you ... frank escontrias

NOT WORTH IT....
I bought 8 of these for my 4th grade class so that they could build and see how electrical circuits work. After getting all the boxes opened and prepped for my students my co-teacher and I sat down to put one together before we introduced these kits to the children. It was impossible for us to make it work. There were no directions or pictures in the kit so we had to download and copy them. On the first section is says "to make sure the light bulb touches the metal piece on the bottom of the red circle" which was impossible in every kit. The light bulbs wouldn't screw in. The wires were too flimsy and the whole set up of this simple circuit was difficult. We called in electrical experts to help us, the custodians and finally after 3 days gave up and we ordered some snap circuit boards for the students... It was a waste of $105 and a waste our prep time as we tried to make this work for our students.

Great kit for the basics
Awesome kit for basic series and parallel circuit investigations in the classroom. One rating mentioned they had experience with electricity but there was nowhere to attach wire. They must have gotten a different kit than the one shown and the one I received. The battery holders have tabs on each end with a little hole the wire goes through and the bulb holders have the typical fasteners that you push down, slide the wire through and then release so it pinches the wire. I highly recommend buying different wire. The wire included is braided. I would get coated solid wire because it is much easier to strip and use.

Worked with a few tweaks-
Very hard to thread the wire into these tiny holes beside the battery holders. It took many tries. Everything‘s a little bit flimsy, but we got everything together and nothing worked. The batteries were dead that came with the kit. Swapped them out for new batteries and it worked fine.
