Q: Is this a newborn nipple? I know that there is a level one and then a newborn nipple as well. I need the newborn nipple specifically.

Looks like a lot of confusion/misinformation on nipples/flow rates. I'm a NICU occupational therapist, I feed babies all day long and we use Dr. Brown's. DB does make a newborn flow nipple, but recently changed the name from "newborn" to "transition". Here are flow rates (from independent research, published by Dr. Brown's): Ultra Preemie: 4.92 ml/min Preemie: 7.22 ml/min Transition (fka Newborn): 9.88 ml/min Level 1: 13.31 ml/min The names of the nipples have NOTHING to do with whether a baby was preemie/how preemie they were-it's strictly about the flow rate (though, yes, we do use the slower flow nipples routinely with preemies, they can be used for any baby who cannot manage the faster flow nipples). Slower flow nipples DO NOT tire babies more easily-the opposite is actually true (respiration needs to pause when we swallow, pauses in respiration=fatigue, therefore increasing flow rate=more frequent pauses=faster fatigue until endurance is adequate). How do you know if the flow is too fast for your baby? Coughing, choking, gagging, pulling off nipple/refusing, audible gulping sounds, "sloppiness" (if flow is too fast, babies can't keep up and what they can't manage to swallow has to go somewhere, so it drools out the sides onto the burp cloth). Hope that helps!

2” bottom 6.5” bottom to top of neck 8.5” bottom to top of nipple 2.5” neck ring and nipple together

These ones are not glass. But they do make a glass option I believe.
