Works well, able to attach to an existing loop.
I made my own deck tether for my 46' sailboat. (I also have the shock absorbing double tether, but) for most movement on deck I use this DIY tether. 48", which is specific to my boat and my jacklines (which are about 4' above the deck). The length is so if I fall I won't go over the life lines, (if I do I'll be right at the life lines so no issue of having to climb back up). And the tether is long enough so I can work. This particular clip is good for a couple of reasons. First it is double locking, so it can't be knocked open by accident, it's a solid -- not a wire gate! (cross loaded wire gates don't have a lot of strength) and the bottom pin allowed me to attach it to the webbing tether I'd already made. (Many of the others have to be placed and then the webbing sewn.) My tether has a loop for a locking carabiner at my PFD, but out on the end where this clip is, the webbing doubles back and is sewn another 8" a one inch gap and then more stitches. In this loop I have another locking carabiner. This allows me to 'clip around' at the stays so that I'm never unclipped. I also added another loop 8" farther. It also has some utility. When the Head on my main sail parted I had to stand next to the boom and gather it in and tie it into a bundle. The boat was rocking side to side over 50 degrees. I just ran my tether over the boom and loose sail and clipped it to itself. Hope this helps.

Love this on my flip line and pos lanyard
This is by far my favorite addition to my zillion flip line/positioning lanyard. It opens super smooth and locks closed. I did buy a second one because of my first had the screw fall out which is a little bit alarming but I've had no issues with the second one and used it twice as long now. I don't know if that was my problem or pretzels but it'd be cool if they would sell me just that screw and the little gate so I could put it back together.

Easy operation with a gloved hand.
I’m using this as a part of my personal bailout system. This along with the Crosby hook opens up several anchoring options. It’s relatively light weight and very easy to operate in “0” visibility with a gloved hand.

Using for tree work on a lanyard
Bought this for use on my zillion lanyard. I was alittle scared to use this with the recalls on similar petzl products and other similar snap hooks BUT after a few months of use it’s been great. I think people that had issues didn’t take care of their equipment and caused damage to the unit before hand then blamed it when it failed .
