What more could you want?
This is a fantastic laptop. I can't believe how much power they have packed into this form factor. It's like living in the future.. well this is 2020. The Operating System is a joy to use and ChromeOS really shines on a machine like this. I think that since there are so many entry level Chromebooks people downplay the advantages of ChromeOS, but it is truly a wonderful operating system. The integration with Linux, while still in beta, is what really seals the deal. Having the ability to install Android apps as well as Linux in one environment is a great technological achievement. And for the machine to be able to run this well you need some horsepower and the i7 is plenty fast. The solid state drive provides plenty of storage as one could also install pure Linux customized for Chromebooks as GalliumOS. It is also possible to install Windows or Ubuntu on this machine, though I haven't tried it. If you go this route, the architecture of this machine is called Eve, and there are driver packages out there that allow mostly fully functional operation on unsupported Linux. However, doing this requires altering the firmware. It's just great that this is all possible. I'd say the only drawback here is the graphics chipset is not high powered for games and such, but it will run 3d games like Amnesia pretty smoothly. If you need a laptop for gaming Windows is still the way to go, but Steam has good support for Linux as well. The touch screen works well and like the surface you can purchase a digital pen. Whereas the surface has a detachable keyboard, this model folds all the way over so that the (disabled) keyboard becomes the back of the tablet. It's pretty slick. When you pick up the laptop by the bottom part sometimes the torsion clicks the mouse button. It's probably because the thing is so darn thin. The resolution on the display is incredible and always responsive. Only issue I've seen is occasional flickering of the screen to black for a split second. It seems to only happen with Linux apps. I've heard this has been addressed this year hopefully in a coming OS update this will be fixed. All in all, I bought this laptop for software development and it does not disappoint. I am glad I went with the higher end model as it will hopefully last for years to come. Happy computing!

Surprisingly Excellent Product
Having a Google Pixelbook for work when they first hit the market I tried to purchase it from work when the lease was up but could not. So browsing on the Amazon site a little over a year ago I found this model and an i5 model with twice as much storage but by the time I pulled the trigger and purchased, this was the only Google Pixelbook I found available. (Although I did receive an Asus Chrome book from work although I found it to be too large and bulky). The Google Pixelbook shown is remarkably as close to excellent condition as they advertise. I was apprehensive a bit reading the negative reviews, and a couple of pics that were posted I would have been disappointed in also if it had been shipped to me. But as of now, could not be more pleased with the product. Time will tell concerning battery life, but so far it is about as good as my previous unit I had for work. Also I found funny someone posted the video of their purchase and mentioned something about the keyboard flashing when trying to use. It appeared that was normal, because the Pixelbook will flash just as the video showed when the battery is low. This is the i7 16GB memory with 512GB drive.

Battery was dead on arrival and will not boot when plugged in
I ordered the Pixelbook sa refurbished. Upon arrival I plugged it in with the included power adapter. The battery status light was red immediately when plugged in. However it remained red for 10 hours and the laptop failed to start up to boot. In addition, the backlit keyboard would flick on and off like a strobe light. The condition of the laptop had some scratches and dents on the back of the laptop. It was not what I call good condition. This is the first time I ordered a renewed laptop. I do not know why they did not test the laptop before shipping it to me. I requested a replacement but they changed the delivery date twice, almost a 2 week shipping. I canceled the replacement.DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

The Best Chromebook Alive
Works and runs like a dream, and more powerful then you can ever imagine. This is also the most beautiful 2-in-1 you could ever own in your lifetime. It is sad that google doesn't want to continue their lineup of laptops. You may have looked up a ton of reviews before considering buying this device, but I can definitely say even though the audio quality isn't the best in the industry, it's still pretty good. and even though this isn't the newest thing in the world it's still the best in my opinion and still competes with the best of the best of the other Chromebooks that are out there. Google did extend the updates for this device and they will go to 2027 even though it hasn't updated that in the "About OS" section, if you click on the more details, Google has listed this device as being continued for updates.

Good buy so far
I bought this laptop in the i7 16gb/512gb configuration in good condition. It runs so smooth, & as far as functionality everything that is supposed to work works. I have a pixel phone & it pairs flawlessly. I like that I can use my mobile data, open the laptop woth my phone & see my notifications once they are paired. It is so lightweight & portable. The only thing I don't like is that during the refurbishing process they put a silver vinyl sticker to cover the scratches on the silver part of the laptops & it's very noticable because it is peeling off. There are definitely some noticable bumps & scratches on the glass part, but I don't mind considering I got this great laptop a really good price. Keep in mind this is chrome OS, & it has it's limitations, but for the average person this is more than what is needed. I will update if I run into any problems.
