The 100: Season 5 [DVD] [2018]

We binge watched the amazon prime 100 seasons but missed the E4 run of season 5 so bit the bullet and bought the DVD. This season is back to the classic 100 format and will not disappoint fans. Don't want to add spoilers but it almost felt like the season wrapped up the story and you could finish watching the story here so if you feel like you have almost had enough, I would recommend watching this season for a nice round ending.The storyline was as ridiculous as ever with fast-paced action suitable for the whole family (teenage boys and adults). Makes for a perfect family box-set.

The show continues to grow and grow. The mysterious ship that showed up at the end of season 5 is unveiled.In the bunker a dark change has come for the survivors. And the battle for the last remaining valley on earth begins. The ending of the season brings a new hope for a new future. But also a reminder of how one character wanted a better future for the survivors. What that future will be seaon 6 will reveal. This is an excellent show. That grows with every season. Highly recommended for sci fi action fans.

Season 5 is another good one, but we've got into the territory of having seen it all before. I don't think 5 was the worst season as some reviewers have mentioned, it just it relies too much on the action which feels too reactionary. Without giving spoilers the leaders seem to have forgotten they've just survived a second holocaust and it's back to business as usual. But don't get me wrong - there are some great stories and I enjoyed every minute, I was just expecting a new twist. This season has the best ending I've seen so far, but not as a cliffhanger, more as an emotionally powerful scene. The whole series could have ended there and the show would have felt complete. It made me look forward to season 6 and wonder where they can take it next.

Easily the best 100 season ever! I thought that the series started to decline in season 3 & 4, e.g. the ridiculous "City of Light" stuff, but this 5th installment is an absolutely superb comeback! It starts off kind of slow, though, the first two episodes aren't that good, but after that it is basically uninterrupted full throttle! The plot (and sub-plots) are extremely cleverly thought out.
