There are many huge corporations that can get lower costs from manufacturers than smaller sellers that sell on Amazon (some of which are small family sellers). It is similar to a soft drink. A two liter bottle of Coke can be priced for $2.49 at a convenience store, $1.79 at a grocery store such as Kroger, and $.99 cents at Walmart. That coke was probably built in same factory, and perhaps delivered by the same driver to the retail stores along a delivery route. The consumer then has a choice of where to buy it, how much trouble then want to go to, and what price they are willing to pay for the item. So on this specific item (BBQ Rub), you may be able to purchase it directly from the manufacturer for a great price and that is terrific. If you are happy with that price and the process, you want to do what is right for your family and purchase it there. If, on the other hand, you are an Amazon prime member and want it delivered to your house in two days with great customer service from the Amazon team, you might want to order on Amazon.
