These are very sturdy. They are not like the very flexible kind that wrap around things. I bought 2 of them and attached them to an angle bracket with a tablet holder that attaches to standard 1/4" camera fittings attached to the other side of the angle bracket. It's basically a tablet-sized GPS holder and the flexible arms spread out across the dashboard rather than having to deal with suction cups on windshields all the time. So far it's been a really good idea. I'm a truck driver and change trucks occasionally. Amazon has a lot of these 1/4" camera fittings making it easy to make high-quality phone, GPS, tablet, or camera holding rigs.

I got normal style goosenecks to try to build a support inside a 4in dust collection hose. They were too weak, but suited perfect for a mic or normal use. These are super sturdy. It takes quite a bit of force to move, but for certain applications these are the best. You can double these up and they will hold whatever you need.

Needs more flexibility. Seems strong enough to hold a little weight but flexibility seems more important.

This is exactly as advertised. Unfortunately, I didn't need a heavy duty gooseneck. The thing is too heavy for my portable clamps

These are strong and stiff. Just what I needed for an off label project.

Worthless junk. This heavy duty flex arm is too stiff for any reasonable use. Difficult to bend (takes two hands to bend), and will not hold position. The first time I tried bending the arm the center seems to have broke. It is unusable for normal use.To return you get the website run around. For $18 it’s not worth the trouble.Don't waste your time and money.

I originally purchased this flex arm for attaching an action camera to a beach tent to make time-lapse videos. The flex arm works very well for that, and it keeps the camera out of the direct sunlight. I am using the flex arm almost exclusively now for mounting and positioning Key lights during Zoom meetings. I found a steel desk clamp with a ¼-20 mounting hole on the top, and the flex arm is permanently mounted to this clamp now. I love being able to position the light wherever I want and it stays put. Because the flex arm is 22 inches long, I have a lot of options for positioning the Key light.

I used this to hold an Ipad nice and steady on a tripod so I could use a photo app at my wedding. It worked great and never moved out of position.
