The magnet holds perfectly, the shoe also supports an external microphone or a light. Ideal with the tripod stand from the same brand.

I might be trying to use a light that to heavy but it drops to one side but with just a mic on it it’s fine

I bought the creator kit along with the Cold Shoe mount and I couldn't be happier. I can attach any of my pro camera equipment without issue and really get some use out of it. The light isn't too bright, but it's bright enough for quick vids/pics. I didn't really like the little tripod it came with, but I just attach the MagSafe mount to one I do like and there's no issue there. The little case is great for taking the grip and the light with me wherever I go.

I put a super lightweight light on it, and any sudden movement and it falls right off. Super weak magnet.
