Great jars

These ended up being really wonderful jars for the price. The first time I used them I wasn’t sure because my lids didn’t seal right. Turns out I wasn’t waiting long enough for them to seal after cooling. Tried again and it was perfect. I also like how compact they are for jams. It’s cuter to give as gifts. Nobody wants to dig in the same big jar for months. I would buy again and plan to when I need more!

I love the jars they are perfect for my business and would like to buy again. However, the packaging is fragile and one jar was broken.

These are very small canning jars about 2.50 inches in diameter x 2 inches high. They come with lids and rings. I had anticipated using these for small jellies but since I rarely use jelly, they morphed into little candles, craft supplies, and more. They are real glass canning jars so you know they are very durable. In my quest for organization everywhere in my home, these jars are indespensible.

I wanted to wait until I got to use these jars before I made a review. I make a lot of jam (about 12 natches) each fall and the cost of jars can add up really fast. I purchased 2 of these, so had 80 of these jars. All arrived fine, they were well packed and nothing was broken. All the lids screwed onto the jars fine when filled. While processing the filled jars in hot boiling water, about 5% of the jars popped their lids - it wasn't the lid that failed, but seems to be the threads on the lid ring that failed. - causing the lid to blow off the jars. This is frustrating because it takes a lot of water and time to bring a large pot of water to a boil, and after a jar top blows off, the entire pot of water needs to be replaced and brought to a boil (very time consuming). The 80 jars made 4 batches of jam, and these blown-off lids resulted in me pouring out and refilling the processing pot 3 times. In the end, about 10% of the jars did not seal. I have never had a problem with lids sealing in the past. Maybe these are great for crafts or ingredients that don't require processing in boiling water, but I don't think I will purchase again - certainly not for jam.
