One of my favorite multitools
I generally carry one of these all the time. The flashlight is *incredibly* convenient. The reason why I like this one so much is that (unlike many other multitools or keychain flashlights), the flashlight is actually pretty bright. (For example, it's *far* brighter than the CRKT Guppy's light.)It's also a single AAA battery, so it's easy to change. The battery lifetime seems to be something like an hour, and then the light does not get noticeably dimmer; it simply stops working altogether. This is not like the old-fashioned incandescent flashlights, that would just grow dimmer and dimmer--there's no obvious indicator that you need to change the battery.I like the other tools on here too. The knife is fine, it's Gerber's standard half-serrated knife, so you get the benefit of both a serrated and non-serrated edge. I like that (though not everyone does); I think that is better than a single straight-edge knife. The scissors are excellent quality, some of the best scissors on any multitool. Fiskars (Gerber's parent company) does know how to make scissors. They don't look as shiny and sharp as the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife scissors, but they seem to cut just as well, and I think they are probably sturdier. I've broken the springs on several of my Victorinox knives, but this one seems to have a sturdier spring mechanism. There are basically four screwdrivers on this tool, and I've used them all. The big one (really, two drivers in one) has an interchangeable bit--it can be either Philips or regular. This is the right size for *most* things. What's nice about this is that the flashlight shines right where the screwdriver points. For this reason, I find this tool to be much better than any other screwdriver for screws in a dark corner. It also happens to be a standard 1/4 socket size, so in a pinch you *can* use other driver bits. Because of the double-ended bit it comes with, the socket is a lot deeper than most screwdrivers, so most bits will go in farther than you might expect. There's no magnet to hold the bits in place (the double-ended bit is held in with a detent), so it's not really designed for other bits, though it can be used with them. This is quite a good screwdriver; give the shape of the whole tool and the location of the screwdriver, it's just about as comfortable as a full-on special-purpose screwdriver, but a lot more convenient. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that you can lose the double-ended bit, and such bits are not at all easy to replace (in fact, I have no idea where you could get a replacement). The bit seems to stay in there ok, mostly; but if you play with it in your pocket, as I tend do to, it might work loose. A couple of times I have found the bit on the floor or in my pocket, so losing it is a real possibility. The other two screwdrivers fold out in the opposite direction (away from the light, unfortunately). You have to fold out the main screwdriver first to get at them. They are for very small screws. What's nice about them is that they are pretty long, and can reach deeply recessed tiny screws. This is practically the only multitool that can reach such screws--multitool screwdrivers usually do not have long narrow shafts. For this reason, I've found it to be extremely helpful with electronics or toys with screws recessed in the plastic. All the folding tools except the small screwdrivers lock open. The locking mechanism works fine for me. It's not a liner lock, it's another mechanism whose name I don't know, but you have to slide the black button you can see on the handle to close any of the tools. Finally, it has a pair of tweezers in the handle. This is a pretty substantial pair of tweezers--it's sturdier than the ones in Victorinox Swiss Army Knives, for example. It also has an angled tip, not a flat tip, which I think is useful. It's not as big, nor as sturdy, as a standalone pair of tweezers you might buy separately, but it's quite nice.As I said, I *really* like this multitool, and I always have one of these with me. I often carry another multitool in addition, because this one does not have pliers or a file or some other useful tools, but I always have this one. Its main defect is that it simply does not have that many tools. But all of the tools it does have are excellent, and some of the tools it does have (bright flashlight, small screwdrivers) basically don't exist in a convenient form on other multitools, at least that I have seen.I suppose one minor drawback (in my opinion) is that it is clearly not as well crafted as a Leatherman or Victorinox. Some people have complained that it broke for them. Mine hasn't in over a year of use. The vinyl button on the flashlight did wear away, though, but I was able to fix that with some vinyl glue. Other than that, the only other wear I see is a few scratches on the colored handle. (But I don't carry it in the same pocket as my keys.) In any case, I think it's a great tool for the price; if Victorinox made something similar, it would cost significantly more. For the price, it's ok if it doesn't last forever.

Limited multi-tool
Nice tool, light works well, blade is sharp. But it can be difficult to pull out some of the tools. Have been using some WD-40 to loosen it up and it helps. But my other Gerber multi-tool I find I use more often as it is easier to use if larger.

Needs a pouch
This has been a great tool, pretty durable but will look well worn when carried in your pocket for months. The two best things about this is the socket/screwdriver, extends far and allows easy work on computers, network racks et al, and the light, it is very bright for such a small tool.I would rate it 5 stars if it would have come with a durable pouch.

Poor quality, dangerous to handle
The idea is good, execution is poor. Bought it for standard hex adapter and long screwdriver - features which Leatherman Skeletool was lacking. 30 bucks on sale, nice looking thing and a flashlight which looked watertight looked good as EDC tool.Well, hex adapter tube of is to long for standard bit and will not hold it. It is not magnetic, double sided bit the knife came with is hold in place by spring in the bit itself. It is made from two parts, poorly welded toghether. Main knife blade is not fixed inside the grip when screwdriver is open and may open and cut you badly.I tested it by trying to disassemble 19 inch server rack with it instead of Skeletool I am usually using for the task. Had to use insulating tape to prevent knife blade from unfolding. Had to put small nut into adapter to use standard bit. On tenth screw welding on adapter tube cracked and it falls apart. Finished the job with Leatherman. On, and rubber button cower from flashlight was poorly glued and fall away. This is not a backup tool. This is not a tool at all. A nasty and dangerous piece of crap with nice look and brand name to fool the unwary.

Its okay but didnt meet my expectations
I recieved the fit as a gift at christmas time, i loved it and it came in handy for all of my son's battery packs that required screws to open them up.In my opinion, this is a good starter tool for an everyday carry option. I find that i use the flashlight and screwdriver the most often, but the other tools come in handy when you need them. There are tools i wished it had, especially for being very bulky in my pocket and not having a belt holster that should have been included with a product of this sort. Over all has a great feel in my hand and is always there when i need it but my only problems is the orange paint is faded on the edges, which is kinda weird for only being in my pocket.. and the flashlight is faulty, i have to hit the thing against my hand a few times to get it to turn on. so thats not very reliable, and i wish that the housing were metal instead of plastic for the flashlight instead. The main tools are able to lock open with the nifty axis style lock but the knife, for example, has alot of play to it and doesnt seem to lock open very securely.A bit of advice would be to save up for something with better quality. -Joe

A decent enough knife. However, it's lacking the quality of my other Gerber knives. I found this knife on Amazon for much less than I was able to find it on the Gerber site.

Ne Se compare pas à un vrais couteau suisse mais fait l'affaire. Trop robuste gerber peut faire beaucoup mieux. Petit plus la lampe.

Good features. Let down by quality.
I was looking for a pocket knife and a small torch/flashlight to use when taking the dogs for a walk as they often pick up bits of detritus in their coats and I occasionally have to free them from fauna when they get themselves stuck whilst exploring. This tool seemed to be the ideal solution by combining both the things I was looking for into a single item. Unfortunately, it was let down on quality - the screwdriver (nice touch having removable, standard size attachments) and scissors were nice and sturdy however the blade had lots of play and moved from side to side when in the locked position. When folded away, if any of the other tools are open, the blade opens quite a way, exposing the edge which you could easily cut yourself on accidentally. It's a real pity as otherwise the tool feels sturdy and well made. Touches like the aforementioned removable screwdriver bits are a really good idea and I'm pretty sure that I would have had plenty of uses for this tool in and around the home. With Gerber having a pretty decent reputation, I'm pretty disappointed - it's not like it's a bargain basement item either.I'd like to think that this is a one off / rare quality fault but unfortunately I won't be able to find out as Amazon were out of stock when I asked for an exchange so I've had to go for a refund instead.
