Great Addition for the aquarium
I was impressed with this bunch of java, after being let down with bundle deals I decided to buy this gem and although its still sat in a holding tank i can say that paying the extra to have it pregrown on its own substrate is the best way. I was able to separate some of it and its substrate (coconut matting) very easily as i am going ti fix some if it to bogwood and some to lava rock and because of the matting/substrate I can confidently superglue it. And as an added bonus its got new plants growing......if you know Java fern you know what that means, if not go research it

looks great, growing well
In the past I've bought aquatic plants from various online retailers as well as LFSs with mixed (and often poor) results. I bought three different plants from Substrate Source, almost two months ago, and all the plants look fantastic! Very little die-back, and they all seem to be thriving. The plants arrived well-packaged, very healthy, and with good instructions. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and Substrate Source is now my go-to for aquarium plants. Although they're pricier than some others, the quality and the size of the plants I received make me wish I'd done all my shopping here from the beginning. The Java fern is pretty substantial. It provides a nice bulk of leaves for my fishies. I've already got a number of baby Java ferns growing from the older leaves, and they look super healthy too.

Amazing!
I had originally ordered this java fern for use as a foreground plant in my 5-gallon betta tank, but when it arrived I was so amazed by its size (nearly 10 inches tall and several inches wide) that I had to change my plans, and I now happily use it as a background plant instead! And not only was the plant much larger than I expected it to be, it was lush and green and healthy.....not a single dead or discolored leaf to be found! Absolutely incredible!

Smaller Than Expect, But Otherwise Perfect
I expected the mat to be larger, but that is my only complaint. It arrived nicely packed, well-secured to the coconut mat, and healthy. We've had this plant for around a month and it has grown and already thrown it's first "baby." It is beautiful and is a nice addition to the tank.

Smaller than expected and comes with free snail
Plant arrived today looking pretty green and healthy and an instant improvement on the fake one I was using. Following the other reviews, however, I was expecting it to be much bigger and I had hoped to replace the fake plant once and for all, which won't be happening. They must be hard to ship but for a plant this small I'm not sure it's worth the money over the inconvenience of finding a pet store that sells them.UPDATE: Today I found an unexpected guest had hitched a ride on the Java Fern: a tiny pond snail. Hopefully he didn't bring any friends...
