An almost guarantee of reading success!
Great book! Contains one minute exercises to train your child to hear and manipulate phonemes. Do before enrolling in public school and lots of reading challenges are avoided! Praise God! I have purchased and given away a dozen of this book to K-1 teachers and Special Ed teachers. Excellent! Should required reading for every parent!

Great foundation for learning to teach reading
This should be required reading for all teachers regardless of grade level/credential. It’s a long and dense read, but very much worth it! The one-minute activities are great.

Excellent Resource
I have been using with with my struggling readers. As a former teacher and currently a homeschool mom, I have been searching for something to help 2 of my sons who have learning disabilities in reading. This book has been an excellent resource for me as I teach my sons. The 1 minute activities have helped both of them experience a breakthrough in their reading abilities. The book contains a lot of information that is useful for teaching reading at all levels - from those just learning their letters, right on up to children mastering the more difficult and complex reading of higher levels. I highly recommend this book!

Intervention that is effective and organized
I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist specializing in dyslexia and other language-based disorders. My students joke about this part of our session, they call it “let’s kill some Patrick.”In the back of the book is the initial assessment you can do pre-treatment with directions on how to score and interpret the results. The drills are hierarchical and short. It’s a good tool to add to a program for any therapist or teacher who understands phonological awareness barriers.

Great content, cheap ink
First of all, this is a great book for anyone who wants to know more about dyslexia. It's an excellent resource. It is large and spiral bound, which is nice as well.My only complaint is that the ink is cheap. I am using this for a course, and I can't highlight the text because the highlighter dissolves and smears the ink. I am annoyed by this because a $75.00 book should be of higher quality.

This is the answer I had been looking for.
I’ve taught for 25 years- much if it has been early grades. I have tutored a great deal and have always been frustrated when my students would learn so slowly.I followed the book’s exercises with my tutoring student. We had already done a lot of phonemic awareness training but not to the extent of the book’s exercises. I saw a marked improvement in my student’s ability to sound out words and readily learn new phonetic spellings. Her confidence increased also. I highly recommend with one caveat: The sequence of exercises needs to be revised. My student could easily do the later exercises, but the exercises in the middle using syllables were extremely difficult. I had to make up my own transition into those exercises. They came last in our sequence. But my student was able to finally complete them. Ive seen a big difference in her.
