Let it age an extra 2 weeks!
NOTE: I keg my cider. I have made the Citra Hopped Cider - and it was VERY good - highly recommended. But the plain Apple cider just has an off taste. I would but the Citra hopped cider again, but not the regular hard apple cider.Plain Hard Applec Cider:PROS - (1) inexpensive on Amazon. (2) easy to make, (3) Lovely color, (4) your choice of sweetness, (4) high enough ABV.CONS - (1) Off-flavorD\Young, it's drinkable, but not as good as I would like!UPDATE: Let it age 2 extra weeks, and it improves quite a bit - changing it from a 4 to a 5/5! (Maybe this is only required if you keg - but aging always improves!

Great taste, easy to make
Easy to make and cider tasted great. Be sure to let the cider age in the bottles as instructed, flavor develops over time. I used table sugar as the priming sugar at a ratio of 1 oz/gallon of cider and it worked just fine.

Good, but packaging isn't great
This worked out pretty well. I did not like the packaging, because as soon as you cut the top, you've got syrup you have to pour. I would much rather have had the instructions and other ingredients in an outer package that I could open before the syrup to read the instructions ahead of time. The kit did well, but I had to use my winemaking fining ingredients (chitosan/kieselsol) to clear it before bottling. The result is a beautiful, straw-colored, very clear cider.

Tasted disgusting
Came out terrible. Heavy sediment at bottom, smelt and tasted disgusting even after filtering and aging like instructions mentioned. Followed directions and had clean everything. Amazon would not allow return. I want refund

Hard Cider the Easy Way
Kits are just that kits, everything you need to produce a great tasting product, mmm, not always. Some kits I have tried are just a waste of time and do not do what they are advertised to do. I have been making wine from my own fruit and kits for almost 4 years now and truly enjoy it. I have never made hard cider and so like most of us who brew or make our own wine I decided to try something new. I ordered this kit. It is complete and easy, fail proof. Always read the directions first then proceed. I followed the directions and yep great tasting sparking/carbonated hard cider. Remember, after bottling let it sit a while it only gets better. Will I re-order this kit again, yes and may even try another flavor. Everything you need is in the package (one side is the concentrate and the other the yeast, cider flavoring, sweetener and of course the directions). All you need to supply is 2.2 pounds of corn sugar/dextrose, a fermentation bucket/big mouth fermentor, stirring spoon, sanitizer and cleaner, bottles caps, carbonation drops or as I did some extra sugar at bottling for the carbonation, and you are good to go. Everything as advertised. Give it a try I do not think you will be disappointed.

Really Good!
We got this kit to see if it would be like Angry Orchard Crisp Apple. We were a bit worried as it was only $20 compared to the same thing on our usual homebrew site at $50. Loved it, easy to make, quick to mature (2-3wks), no sludgy bottom of the bottle like we get with some homebrew ales. It was very similar to the Crisp Apple, we used the whole sweetner packet, it was clear and carbonized nicely. Still can't believe it was on $20, so we will be looking for other items from this company on Amazon. Defintely recommend

This is exactly what we were looking for.
We just received it. We are going to try making the hard cider with it after the holidays. Received it very quickly

Allow it to age at least 3 or 4 months
Its pretty easy instructions, ( I've been wine making for almost 40 years.) I used the new sugar pills for the carbonation because its pre measured that way, just makes it easier. Followed directions, turned out very good. But, you must age it long enough. Mine is bottled 4 months now, taste great and has a fantastic head when poured out. The head doesn't last long, but looks and taste great. I'm going to make another batch and add more sugar and use a fruit wind yeast, with the hopes of making a wine out of it. Should work, and should be a really good sweet wine.
