I know they look inexpensive, but dont do it
Got these on a whim when ordering some extended studs from ARP. They were cheap enough that i figured if they work, great, if not- no big deal. Both packages showed up at the same time- so I opened them and tried to thread down the lugs onto the studs by hand. 85% got less than halfway into the threading before grinding to a halt. I took the studs and ran them through my gauge feeler, they were perfect, ARP makes great stuff. I then set up a tap and ran down a few lugs to see if i could salvage them. So much excess metal came out of the threads that 100% for sure these would have gaulled any OEM studs they were run down on.BUT WAIT, THERES MORE! After cleaning the threads I went to verify fit on the studs... 15 of the 20 would only thread 3/4 the way down the studs.. WTH? After being baffled and flipping it around looking for the reason I noticed that the actual threaded hole for the studs is actually not drilled straight down the center of the lug. Most are offset by a few degrees making the extended lug come into contact with the lug wall once it exits the threaded portion of the lug. This would mean that even if you get these to run down on the stud whatever length you needed to set and tighten the wheel the tapered seat wouldn't be evenly contacting the wheel. That can and will damage the lug seat on an aluminum wheel FOR SURE.Cliffs notes:-Will gaull oem studs because the threading is crap.-Will damage aluminum wheels because they wouldn't sit straight even if you managed to fix the threads.Returned.
