Old-school trickster — keeps the bad guys guessing while I’m away
I bought this Panasonic portable AM/FM radio to hook up with a smart electrical switch so it can turn on while I’m away on vacation. Basically, I’m tricking potential thieves into thinking someone’s home—and so far, so good. The radio is old-school but reliable. It picks up all the local stations with no fuss, and the sound quality is surprisingly decent for something this compact. The tuning dial isn’t super fancy, but it does the job without making me want to throw it out the window.Setup with the smart switch was a breeze, and I feel way better knowing there’s a little background noise coming from the house—even if it’s just classic rock or a talk show. It’s like a subtle “Hey, somebody’s here” without having to keep lights on all night. If you’re looking for a simple, no-frills way to make your place look lived-in while you’re gone, this little radio is a neat sidekick. Just don’t expect it to replace your Spotify playlist.

Best Radio I have ever bought site unseen.
I am not doing a video but I just received my wonderful radio this afternoon. I cannot even begin to say how much I love this Panasonic RF-2400 D. The sound is way more than I expected. So clear. This is replacing my very expensive Bose Radio that just decided to go out to lunch. But I am okay with that.I expected this radio to be larger and I am thrilled it isn't what I expected. It is a perfect size. The handle makes it easy to grip and it folds down in the back. I like to play a radio for my Mini Aussie, Zona and her bestie, my big black manx cat, Ace aka Cat when I go to the barn.I love that this is light weight. But of course I will only put batteries in it when we go camping in my horse trailer with my horse. (We) referring to my dog and my horse. Sadly, Ace will have to stay home. He would not be happy being couped up in the trailer. He's an indoor cat. This radio is so easy to tune via a knob on the right side and the volume is also on the right. It also has a place to plug-in headphones. I love the Grey color too.

A Reliable Old Radio
I was in need of a radio that has good reception. The one I had didn't have good enough reception to pick up a local sports station. I thought all I needed was an internet radio but for the local NFL football game, the signal is blacked out.I bought this radio mainly because of the positive reviews here and on the internet about the radio's ability to pick up radio stations. In that area, the radio did not disappoint. When a station comes in clearly, a red led light turns on indicating that the station has a good signal. The sound on FM is amazing. The sound on AM could use some more tone but there is no way to change the tone. After doing a little research, I see that this radio is about 7 years old. But I guess it must still be good. Here is what I like and dislike of this radio:LIkes:------- does great job at picking up stations (this uses digital tuning technology)- runs on 4 aa batteries- had durable feel- red led lights up when tuning to a station that has good reception- amazing sound on FMDislikes:----------- sound on AM could use more tone but no way to adjust tone- scale for station channel is off by about 20 units (for example, the scale marker for signal at AM 1000 shows about at 980)- I prefer a knob for volume control but this uses a wheel- only gray color option (does not come in black)Overall, if you looking for a radio that has very good reception, this is worth considering.I give the Panasonic RF-2400D portable radio 4 out of 5 stars.

Lots to like about this AM/FM portable radio. I recommend it!
I have been using the Panasonic RF-2400D for about a month now. Here is my review of itThis radio has a lot of excellent features. It does a great job tuning in AM and FM stations with the DSP tuning. The Tuning light turns on when it has locked onto the station well. Love it. The 23" Antenna is great at picking up more distant FM stations. The antenna is not 360 degrees, but it does move side to side. The internal AM antenna does a great job with more distant AM stations. The tuning knob is excellent, enabling fine tuning. The radio frequency dial is pretty accurate to where the stations actually are.It has a nice big 3.5" speaker and it sounds really good, both AM and FM. The radio runs off of 4 AA batteries and also comes with an AC power cord. The handle is solid and folds down when not needed. Lastly, the radio itself is attractive.I have two minor gripes:1. The earphone jack only sends sound to one speaker on your headphones. I wasn't expecting stereo, but it would have been nice to have sound fed to both ears. This is a trivial upgrade. I knew this would be the case going in, but would still be nice to have.2. The band selector switch doubles as the On/Off switch. When I went to the beach recently, I put the radio in my beach bag the night before. When I got to the beach, the On/Off switch had been jogged, rubbing up against other stuff in the bag, and the batteries were dead. It would have been better if the On/Off switch were incorporated into the volume dial like so many other radios.Despite these two minor flaws, I consider this to be an excellent radio and give it 5 stars. I recommend.
