Q: How do you recharge the keyboard? Do you plug the keyboard into the computer for recharge via something like usb, or do you have to remove batteries?

You don't need to remove the batteries, it's rechargeable. You can plug the micro USB cable (in the package) to the keyboard and the computer or cellphone wall charger via USB.

Q: The photos show a us layout. is this really the case? that is what i am looking for, but have learned not to trust photos.

Hi Denise - the green light doesn’t have to be on for the keyboard to be working. This is stating the obvious but there is a tiny switch at the top right hand corner of the keyboard to allow you to switch it on. I always leave it switched on permanantly. If it’s any consolation, I like thios keybaord and it has wroked perfectly from day 1 for me. All the best. David
