An Artistic Masterpiece
Package arrived in mint condition, all extras included. Very pleased to have finally found this masterpiece! I remember seeing it once way back when it first came out, and then I could not find it ANYWHERE until recently on Amazon. So happy to have found this!

Isn't Everything Amazing?
This is my favorite film of all time. It moves to tears every time I watch it, though it's difficult to find nowadays. This Blu-Ray version is true to the original, and even comes with the bonus short film of Emily and the Future. Don Hertzfeldt is a mastermind of human emotions.

Weird and uncomfortable but with some effort to understand, a highly rewarding watch.
The first (and 3 years later) only movie I have purchased ever since they removed it from Netflix. This is a bizarre story and an even more unique way of telling it.If you're interested in Don Hertzfeldt (check out some of his stuff on YouTube), David Firth (YouTube: Salad Fingers, "Take This Pill" or if you can abstract meaning from seemingly random, sometimes uncomfortable, but never straightforward events than this is for you. Often in this film you are bombarded with details that are neither plot relevant nor important for character development yet allows you to connect with the main character. Personally, it gives more meaning to the quotidian events of our lives (making coffee, getting dressed, writing this review right now) by seeing how these events really shape our lives, often more than the big "life changing" events.I've seen this movie multiple times, and encourage everyone that I chat with movies about to push themselves to watch it once and then decide if they want more of it. I didn't fall in love instantly. In fact, I watched half of it, then more later, then more later, and found myself thinking about it at random times so I revisited it saying "I wonder if there's more to this movie that I'm not understanding" and every re-watch has given me more enjoyment than the last.

Wonderful movie
I love this movie so much! I had been talking to my boyfriend about how good of a movie it was and decided to order it so he could see it! DVD arrived sooner than expected, which was awesome! My only complaint is that a couple of parts of the movie skipped a little and cut out some of the narrative... oh well though. Still an excellent movie!

A beautiful, touching, hilarious, and thought-provoking piece of visual poetry
I'm a big fan of Don Hertzfeldt in general, and this is far and away his best work. The animation is deceptively simple looking; at first, it seems like it just consists in basic stick-figure art. However, if you pay careful attention, it's clear that this apparent simplicity hides a deeply impressive technical mastery, and incredibly creative film techniques. The fact that Hertzfeldt makes it *seem* simple and spare is another indication of the genius of this film. The musical score wonderfully complements the visuals, alternately evoking nostalgia, terror, confusion, and hilarity.Beyond all this, though, the plot and writing of the film are brilliant beyond description. Each of the three parts is an extended meditation on family, mental illness, life, death, and love. There are deep philosophical themes and ideas shot through the entire film (and I say this as a philosophy professor), and the trilogy rewards repeated viewings, as well as contemplation and discussion. It's a beautiful piece of humanistic art--intelligent without being pretentious, and universal without being simplistic. It is incredibly worth watching.

This film will change how you see life and death
Experimental, existential, shocking,... there are a hundred words that could be used to try and describe this film. But in the end, Don Hertzfeldt's work can't really be described in words. Only images and sounds will do - and those comprise an experience that transcends conventional animation. That's all I can think of to say. Watch this film. It was made for everyone to see.

"you are forgiven."
This is one of the most gut-achingly sad and personally touching movies I've ever seen. Bill finds beauty in the mundane, the moments few people ever give credence to. The aesthetics of the movie are deceptively simple, yet powerful and effective. The black humor and absurdism Hertzfeldt uses is reminiscent of Kurt Vonnegut - "The passing of time is just an illusion, because all of eternity is taking place at once... Bill made a joke that he could've sworn he'd been told that somewhere before, but the guy just stared at him like he didn't get it."The Tralfamadorians would've laughed.Out of all the movies I've ever watched - this is the only one where the tears flow freely. Give this a watch if you've ever experienced any sort of existential crisis, or if you're having one now.

Already know it's good. Just watch it!
Herzfeldt, you magnificent bastard. You remove The End of the World from the market in anticipation that it will spike sales for It's Such a Beautiful Day, and it works.I have yet to watch this crisp, Blu-Ray experience, as I have yet to purchase a Blu-Ray player; I have no doubt that it will be just as impeccable, if not more, on the disc format as it was for Netflix (before they took it off). The World of Tomorrow and the others are great, but if you want to reach the true peaks of existential nirvanha in a simply narrated story of a sick stick man's world turning to refried beans, It's Such a Beautiful Day is your proverbial 'Route 66.'
