Q: how long does it stay hot

I bought this as a gift, so not my own experience but, the friend i bought it for said his coffee that was made in the morning was still hot when he got back from work 9 hours later.

Q: Is it supposed to click into the closed position? It clicks for open and doesn't leak, so I'm guessing I put it together properly.

You have to turn it to closed if you want to keep it and and contain liquid , if you have on open the liquid will cool more quickly and if the cup is tipped it will spill out as I often find when I’m putting it into my car cup holder if I have not got it turned to close position !

Q: Can I drink coffee from it or I should pour it in a cup?

This is a coffee mug. Its meant to be a cup. So yes you can drink from it. I love mine so much I no longer use coffee cups even if I'm at home.
