Will it fit on a truck with a cap?

Mine do work but they are clamped to plastic tie downs on my Tacoma.

The rods should fIt because they are adjustable. My neighbor has a short bed Chevy truck and they fit in his truck. We have a long bed Chevy truck and it fit.
