I bought this as a test to see if the shelf could hold what I needed it to hold and it does, very capably so far. However, the shelf did arrive broken on one end, though it was easy enough to repair with Gorilla Glue. The manufacturer should add a high-density padding to the ends of the product in the box. I also can't say that it was tool-free. Maybe it's just my drywall, but I would have had to have been built like The Rock to shove the fasteners in solo. I used a hammer and it took a couple of good bangs.It does hold what I need it to hold, it tolerates the treadings of curious cats, and the built-in stick-on level and template is just terrific.

3 of the shelves out of 4 were nice but one of the larger ones I ordered was smashed in the corner and cracked. The material is like a pvc not wood so it prob was damaged during transport. Writing this review to hopefully get a response or replacement from the company. I will give a more detailed review and higher star rating if that happens. If you have plaster walls as I do there is a way to make these shelves work and it's not difficult. Actually suprised there are no pre drilled holes for plaster installation as I did it and was very simple solution.

Normally, I look down at reviews with low star ratings for items that arrive damaged. However, in this case, it's 100% the manufacturer's fault that these shelves get shattered. I've ordered 4 of these, and all four of them have arrived with one end completely smashed. There is zero padding on the side of the box, and the trim material is very thin so that it breaks very easily. I still installed the shelves, even despite the damage, simply because I don't believe I'll be able to get a perfect one delivered and I love the design. Plus, it's not super noticeable on the wall where I installed these. The design is fantastic for apartment dwellers, and the shelves feel very sturdy once installed. All it takes is a little bit of extra padding, and these would easily be 5 stars.

I ordered the 36" shelf in white for my bedroom as I was tired of having other shelves that tilted away from the wall & anything I put on the shelf, fell off [ a bit of a problem as it is over my bed ] and had the shelf itself fall.. I bought the High & Mighty since I love the strength of their hangers.. It worked as I wanted.. secure, flat to the wall & since the holder are for 20#'s I can now put pictures & flowers [ or whatever I want] on the shelf with confidence. Going to get a 36" black for living room and thinking of some for bathroom for decorative ideas...

First of all, let’s just say I am probably the least mechanically inclined individual on the planet. That being said, these shelves are AH-mazing! They are seriously the easiest shelves I have ever installed. You adhere the level strip, push in the hardware and hang the shelf. Voila!

I’m giving these 3.5 stars because they are definitely easier to mount than regular shelves and they leave much smaller holes in the wall than anchors/molly screws. But I had to return 2 of the 3 that I ordered because they arrived damaged.I guess depending on your walls, you may need to use a hammer like I did, otherwise you won’t need any other tools (no stud finder, no wall level, no screwdriver).

I absolutely love this shelf and the several others I’ve purchased for displaying my collections. My only issue I’ve had is with this one in particular. As others have also experienced, my shelf came broken out of the box. It’s still functional, but for $50, I’d hope that it was at least intact... I still recommend the regular squared off version of these shelves as I think they are a bit sturdier. As much as I love these shelves, I can’t help but feel I got cheated out of my money a bit due to how fragile and cheaply made the shelf is.

This is my fourth High & Mighty tool free shelf. The first two were shorter (18' and 24"). they worked so well that I decided to try longer ones for items that are a little heavier. So far so good...I really like the ease of install..
