Necessary for EPI dogs
Our GSD has EPI and needs extra B12. As I'm too nervous to do the injections, we give her 2 capsules sprinkled on her breakfast every day. We recently started giving our non-EPI dog the B12 too, in an effort to delay or help with age-related issues.

EPI dog safe
My 2 yr old shepherd yellow Lab mix has EPI. It's well controlled but she was low in B vitamins. I mix it into her food after opening 2 capsules along with her powdered enzymes. I use prescription enzymes. Anyway, when you open the capsules it's tan in color. As soon as it hits her food it turns bright orange. It doesn't have any taste. My dog isn't having any gut issues so this is a winner for us!!

Great B-12 for my dog
My dog has IBD, and our vet would give him occasional B-12 shots when we were there because it’s supposed to be helpful for IBD. Actually my google search says that dogs with IBD don’t absorb B-12 very well, so I think it’s kind of important to supplement for them.Since we don’t get to the vet very often and the cost of the shots add up (plus their schedule now is crazy when I want to make an appt.), I decided to try this; and they have worked great!I really believe that it has helped his IBD because he has had only a couple of small flares since we started this about 6 months ago, and he had been having consistent flares every couple of weeks for months before starting this. And this is the only thing I changed.I wish I had known about this sooner. It was never suggested to me to give a B-12 supplement and I didn’t even know that it was available for dogs.Since my dog is about 15#, I give him 1 capsule 3 times a week. I actually break the capsule open and add it to his other supplements in almond butter. If your dog has IBD, I’d definitely recommend trying this.

Important administration instructions
Our dog has been suffering with upper and lower GI issues over the past year. After our most recent blood test panels we were instructed to give him a vitamin B12 and folate supplement. This product was a fraction of what the veterinarian's office would have charged. We researched the company and felt comfortable with their quality standards. I reached out for dosing instructions via their website and they got back to me the same day. Important to note that you can hide this pill in cheese / pillpocket whole. The instructions say to open the capsule and mix with food. However, it can also be given whole. Our dog is extremely food selective and wouldn't touch it when mixed with his food. I can't speak to efficacy since we haven't yet had repeat lab work, but this supplement, in conjunction with a probiotic and prescription food, does seem to have made some positive impact on his quality of life. It’s helped my dog and no gi issues what so ever !
Update: 12/20/24When my dog got real sick with vestibular syndrome and renal disease in the late stages, this didn’t work….not even B12 solution injection was the answer. It is a better and healthier option compared to drugs, I’d still say give this a try first before drugs that can potentially cause more renal problems.I bought this supplement because my 15 yr old (8 lbs) German spitz wasn’t eating his food that even included his favorite “boiled chicken”. I bought this in hopes of getting him to eat on his own to make life easier for me and of course more enjoyable life for him, also to help him with his energy. I started supplementing very little because I saw the negative reviews from people saying their dog got very sick. Each capsule can be given to a dog from 1-50 lbs and that to me sounds like a high dose for an 8 lbs dog so what I do is pour the capsule contents on a plate and divide it to 6 parts. The first couple of days I was just giving him 1/6 of capsule with his food, but once I saw he was doing well with it, I started giving him 2/6 of capsule daily. 1/6 with breakfast, 1/6 with dinner. I’m giving all the details and the exact measurements in hopes that someone with a small dog like mine can use this as a guideline to introduce this to their dog without causing gi issues. I’m very happy to report my dog has a much better appetite, he eats his home cooked meals now that isn’t just boiled chicken , it’s chicken and a whole bunch of vegetables and some fruit, although he still doesn’t want to eat his commercial made dog food ( honest kitchen limited ingredients turkey powder). His energy level is so much better. Cognitive wise, well he is 15 yrs old and as long as he doesn’t get worse and forgets to follow me around the house then I’d say this supplement is doing something. I must mention, I only add this supplement to his food that he doesn’t like to eat along with the rest of his supplements that I syringe feed him. I think supplements and meds for the most part always should be given with food unless it specifically states otherwise but some of these supplements can alter the taste of the food so if you guys have a picky eater like mine, don’t add supplements to the food they actually like. Find a different way to supplement them, syringe feed or mix it with small amount of salt/oil/sugar free peanut butter.

He'll eat it
Merc the house panther will eat this mixed into his wet food. It avoids his having to get shots from the vet and has improved his health.
