Great pedal/great sound
Great sounding pedal, American made and solid!True bypass gives you a clean sound, and the 2 distorted channels provide plenty of options for 2 great dirty channels! Very tweakable … easy to get that “brown” EVH sound, or any other sound you’re looking for!

Best OD I have EVER heard/had in a pedal.
I'm gonna keep this semi simple because I'm a simple dude.I have this running into an EVH amp, because I like to have varying degrees of distortion/tones.The EVH's are known for their drive straight out of the amp, and for good reason. It's a clean bone crushing drive. Well......This pedal os too!!!It is the most perfect OD I've ever heard or had. It's housed in a fortress. The individual tone/gain/presence/volume controls make it absolutely easy as it gets, to quickly dial in your sound.I'm not trying to blow smoke up anyone's 4th point of contact. It is simply THAT F'ing incredible.Don't hesitate if you're considering getting this. You WON'T regret it. Well worth every single penny.

Very tube-like and Fantastic!!
I’ve had so many distortion pedals we can almost say all of them. This is hands down the most realistic and inspiring hot rod Marshall pedal I’ve ever used. Touch sensitivity is stellar, range of useable tones is vast, it’s quiet, it’s small, easy to use. Most distortion pedals with this much gain compress and or squeeze the notes so much of the dynamic range is gone. This one feels just like your amp but with all the gain you’ve ever wanted.Sounds fantastic with my Carr Rambler and my tweed fender clones. Mr Friedman you’ve proven your skills go beyond tube wizardry into the transistor realm.I have a Friedman Runt 50 combo and this pedal into my Carr is 95% of the punch and feel of the Runt - which is my fave Marshall I’ve ever owned.

Great sound though. (switching arrangement makes more sense than I'd though originally)
EDIT 9 22 24I changed my view of the switching set up, I finally realizethat the top channel is completely different than thelower channel, it's been a couple years, so I'm guessingthat I wasn't really aware of that. It seems that the topchannel, (the one farthest away from the player) isheavy on gain, the lowest setting is much more gainthan the other channel at the same setting. This pedal is of similar quality to the mxr 5150 , very close ,but it has two channels, which is a huge plus.Back to the good, the tone you can get if you use a tube amp ismagical , like the MXR 5150, if you like an SRV / Allman brostone, might not be the best for players that just want metal ,but the distortion is good for a lot of things, including SRV, I shouldalso mention though that the best sound I was getting was withthe Sliderig, but it is quite expensive, I'm going to try a keely compressor, and see if that combination of Friedman and Keely can replicate theexcellent SRV tones I was getting before.

Exactly what I hoped for!
I read a lot of reviews before buying things online, so I wanted to try and help someone looking at this pedal. I have and use an EVH 5150 OD and didn't know how this would compare. However, I fell in love with the Friedman 100 watt JEL amp and this is the next best thing. I normally use an EVH 100w EL34 head and matching 4x12 cab but for practicing at my console I also use a small Marshall 2x12 code 100 and the BE-OD sounds killer. I love being able to immediately dial up 2 different channels and use the blue channel as more lead and clean and the green channel for the nasty, full, crunchy stuff. Normally I would never spend $270 for an OD pedal, but luckily had some Amazon gift cards that were begging to be used on this pedal. If you are looking for a versatile OD pedal, look no further. Puts my EVH 5150 to shame and I loved that pedal.

Best Marshall distortion on the market
Extremely close to the real BE, 90% depending on the channel it's going into. Just make sure your line is decently clean so you can get all the harmonics. Probably the best overdrive/distortion pedal I have ever owned. The only negative part is that if its plugged in the channel light on the left is always on even if the pedal is inactive. This pedal is worth the money the only step up is to buy the actual amp.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
Was looking forward to this purchase only to get a defective prior returned product that doesn’t work at all!! Let’s hope they make it right!!!The replacement I was sent has a defective output jack? SERIOUSLY!?!?! Is there any quality control on this product? The sound, when it decided to work, was similar to my existing marshall, so they can keep it! For the price, two fails is two too many! Hmmmm… really have to wonder about all the glowing reviews??

Pretty good
I was initially impressed but found I couldn't dial in the low-gain tones I'd been hearing online (using internal trim pots). You can't really get away from its signature sound either. I found the gain on each channel to be a bit different and I seemed to like the top better than the bottom, making me wish for a lower gain top channel then what was given in the low gain channel. The gain got a bit gritty/ugly during decay at low settings. The eq was nice but I found the tight switch was too extreme. In the end it was an easy return, really only tuned for metal (which I like) but I can't really justify a $200 metal pedal, especially when the Joyo Jackman sounds MASSIVE compared to it. Maybe it does better loud, but I didn't keep it. Seemed good for what it was.
