Klein ToolsIR10 Infrared Thermometer, Digital Thermometer Gun with Dual Targeting Laser, 20:1

So I bought this temp gun after I replace a ring and pinion assembly. Needed a way to check temperature of assembly as it broke in and not get it to hot as signs of improper installation. It has a nice feel to it, not light and cheaper feel to it. Unit feels solid, it also had one of the better ratios to it without getting to expensive compared to the others. Also comes with external K temp. Probe and battery is included.

I got this item to check the temperature of the rotors on my xterra. My wife told me the brakes were having an issue we went on a test drive and there was a small pulsing of the brake pedal. After I got the Kline infrared thermometer I took the car for a drive then checked the rotor temps. I have concluded that the drivers side has a 6 degree temp increase and has a warped rotor.

Easy to use, not sure how accurate or how you would test it. It seems accurate based on what’s room temperature.

I've got three IR guns, now. I wanted one with a tiny spot focus, for reading small objects. From the cheapest to the Klein, they all seem the same.The Klein has an Emissivity function, which is important when reading metal surfaces.The laser guides are nice and bright, and seem to accurately reflect the area which is read.I hate that you need a Phillips driver to change the battery!

The first item(IR10) did not work. Could not get info required for a return. Bought a second item & it worked as required. Need to return the first item purchased for a refund

This is my first thermometer of its type, so I don't have any experience with competing products.That said, with this unit, you pop in the 9V battery, set the emissivity adjustment (on-screen, but as with most handheld thermometers, you have to program it for the type of material you're scanning as not all materials emit the same amount of detectable heat at the same temperature). Once programmed (look up the number, use the up/down buttons to set it, done, takes 10 seconds), it has been perfectly accurate.I've used it for several months now (approximately 2 minutes of total "on" time per day) and the battery still has a full charge, so even the battery power seems to last forever in this scanner.Great unit, zero complaints.

Works well and is quite accurate. Need to set the emissivity values as per the material being measured for accurate readings. Best priced IR gun for the spot ratio.

Arrived quickly and worked amazingly well. Helped me accurately locate the site of air leakage(a) around our door. 2 thumbs up.

Excellent product

Ordered the tool and it arrived 2 days quicker than scheduled. Thermometer was purchased for a friend who indicated he's very impressed with the accuracy.

Works fine if left at room temperature. However, if left in my service van with the rest of my tools I need to let it warm up for a good 20-30 minutes. At first won’t read at all, then gives highly inaccurate readings until it’s all the way warmed up. Fluke works reasonably well when cold, but it’s 3x the price.
