How noisy/loud are the squeaky eggs? Would this be annoying to take on the plane?

There not very loud at all, the only troubles I would see being on a plane would be parts falling on the floor. My granddaughter loves this toy and spends more time taking then apart and putting them back in the carton. Then we play together and say colors ,shapes, and even matching the faces to the eggs.

Do the egg pieces "click" together or are the egg shell tops more like hats that just sit on top of the chicks inside?

The eggs are like hats. They don't snap or anything. The toddler just puts them on top of the "chick" that has the corresponding facial expression. When mine tries to pick up the container with them all in it, and she turns it upside down, the eggs all fall out and come apart. She finds it funny, but it becomes kind of tedious to put them all back in (if toddler doesn't want to clean up after herself). That being said, the tops of the eggs fit each egg well (there are no gaps) and it's easy for a baby to take them off and put them on, even if the faces aren't aligned with the chick (or on the correct chick).

Are there 6 different colors of eggs?

Yes there should be 6 colors. Some have stated otherwise but the seller I got from had 6 different colored eggs!

Does this toy have the different colored faces (how it is pictured) or are they brown like the reviewers have stated?

I have purchased this product twice. When I bought it years ago the eggs had brown faces and colored bodies. The colors were different from the pictures; they were not as pretty and bright. I purchased this product again last December as a Christmas present for a relative and it came just as pictured. I was bummed out when I got my first one years ago because it wasn't the one with super cute colors. That was quickly forgotten and is still a favorite toy here even after two years. I think this toy is a must have for all babies and toddlers, go for it.

This is one of those toys your kids will love and you will wonder why. This is the only toy my 18 month old plays with every single day (her other toys aren't so lucky). The eggs are really well made, smooth, polished and shiny. The expressions are great, the colors are bright and very attractive to toddlers. They make a small squeaking noise when pressed, and other reviewers have mentioned that the sound is too low, which I agree, but my daughter does not care for the sound anyway.

Ideal to keep your 18month+ child occupied. I think this is a toy that can be used for quite a while to come. There are so many things to do with this egg carton. Each egg has a color coordinated shell for your child to match. The bottom of each egg has a shape which fits into the carton like a shape sorter. Each chick also squeaks when pressed down. I think its really ideal. My daughter has just grasped the concept that there are different shapes she needs to match up for the eggs to fit into their slots. She can't match them which tells me this toy will definately have some longevity. Also cute for an older child to use in their play kitchen.

Nice plastic quality, imginative design.

Nice, Imaginative set of eggs for kids in age group of 8 months to 18 months. My grandson liked it and has started pronouncing words eggs now ! This has good nice creative element like a spring if you press down the yolk of egg, pattern matching while putting the eggs in the tray and different colours which fitting eggs cover on egg bottom. Relatively cheap price and very nice plastic quality. Will recommend other to buy.
