Very solid value
Very clearly not a beginner or even intermediate level system and I was initially surprised by the absence of the classic POST beep assuring me that it was alive, but it's a magnificent platform for Linux. The Debian 12 installer recognized everything with no hassle, and my only real hardware disappointment was that the E key on the included keyboard sticks and auto-repeats. Fortunately a $15 keyboard is very easy to come by.

Aug. 2023: Very inexpensive workstation for ML/AI
The build was relatively easy and inexpensive. Results on par with:- AMD EPYC 7272 12-Core- Intel Core i7-7900X- Intel Core i9-9900KSysBench Multicore CPU speed: events per second: 21,359with 32 CPU threads, 96GB DDR3, and NVidia 3060 12 GB running 2560x1440 displays- The build started with a PANIC, I could not boot the computer to BIOS - nothing was showing on the screen.- I ripped the computer apart, took out 1 of the 2 processors (very easy to do), and removed all, but one DDR3 memory module. Restarted and Nothing.- I took the BIOS (coin) battery and pressed the memory reset. Restarted and Nothing.- I ordered a new graphic card NVidia 3060 12GB VRAM for $309 and waited 2 days. Restarted and WORKED fine. The original NVidia Quatro card did not work, I should have taken a star, or two, away for that, but I do not care. I needed more CUDA cores and more VRAM, anyway.- Ordered and installed a 2.5-inch Samsung SSD 1T for $59 and a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch holder for $7, I have a spare room for 2 more.- Installed Ubuntu 23 from a USB drive.- Ordered WiFi PCIe card for $39. Worked immediately.- Everything works perfectly so far, very quiet, and there was NO need to install any DRIVERS!!!.Next update:- Update CUDA drivers before I start programming- Update BIOS if I need to- buy a PCIe card for M.2 SSD (much faster than SATA SSD) and move OS thereI am happy with the result.

UPDATE: Seller is did well....Original review has been updated
I am a vine reviewer, but I paid for this product.UPDATE - After contacting seller they quickly sent out correct video card and caddy. I raised my rating by 3 stars to 4. This computer is a beast!Originial review-Received the Z620 quickly. However, upon receipt and opening the case was pretty severely beat up. Many plastic parts, both trim and framing were broken and missing. Internal was very clean, but it was missing one of the internal drive caddies. Was advertised as having a Quadro K600 video card, instead it had a cheap Radeon card. I noticed from other reviews the seller has done this on others. This is just wrong. If for some reason the listed video card is not in the computer, then ask the buyer if they want a cheap, less powerful one. If you decided to remove one of the 3 drive caddies to possibly sell separately, then ask if it is ok to not send all the components. And yes, this missing drive caddy problem exists in other reviews. The computer runs beautifully. However, I'm now having to buy a decent video card. I guess I get to buy another drive caddy. I guess I should not be concerned that the case looks like someone beat it up with a brick. Oh, and don't advertise that it is in excellent condition from a foot away. That might be true for someone that cannot see.

Expensive Workstation that is Affordable
I already owned a Z620 before and this is one impressive workstation computer so naturally I wanted a second one to replace a failing desktop computer. The one I received Stallion Tek was as clean and as pristine as the first one I had bought from another vendor. The word on the street is they are seeing a second life after being used as servers for Facebook. These are big, powerful machines that cost ten times more when new and the dual processor and multiple-cores combined with the copious ECC memory make them ideal for video (Adobe After Effects is a killer) and 3D rendering such as Poser or Daz3D or as a gaming machine. They are modular and the system construction is very robust reminding me of the old Apple G4's in their quality build. Sadly, I do not see a successful Hackintosh build for them, anything to replace those Apple trash cans for video editing. That said, I am fine with using Windows 10 Pro and had an old license lying around that I repurposed for this workstation. Also, since they are older you are not installing NVMe without some serious BIOS gyrations. When you install your SSDs you can use these caddys to fit in the drive bays: B00F3QFKNS. For gamers adding your video card such as a 1070 or 1080 is no problem, the power connectors are tied down but the HP graphics 6-pin power connector is a bit more robust and a dual card install requires a special connector. There are plenty of threads on this issue online and some people even try to install three cards. The best part is the copious fans are very quiet. The only downside to these boxes is that the dual Xeons don’t exactly sip electricity when they are going full bore and they do throw off heat! Frankly, once you run a real workstation you’ll find it hard to go back to a consumer grade desktop.
