Comfortable hand strap
I got this for my Nikon P1000 camera and this strap is really great. It keeps the camera stable and it’s very comfortable. I strongly recommend it.

Great hand strap For your camera
I purchased this strap prior to going on a trip where I knew I would be carrying my camera a great deal through crowds of people and in lots of different situations. I really enjoyed using this strap. I am not crazy about the typical strap around your neck. This hand strap offers a lot of flexibility when taking photos as well as feels very secured in your hand. The safety strap that goes around your wrist is a definite plus. I was carrying the camera for several hours and hadn’t checked the strap to make sure all was good, when one of the attachment straps to the camera came undone. Had it not been for the extra piece that was around my wrist I would have dropped the camera, as I had a very loose grip on it. The only two negatives to this strap are that the connection straps to the camera loosen overtime. They need to be tightened down quite often depending on the use. Also I noticed that when I carried the camera for long periods, several hours, my hand would go numb and I needed to work my hand to relieve it. Overall a great purchase. Would recommend to anyone.

Almost Perfect. Room for Improvement with a suggested solution
I've been using hand straps ever since I first started shooting in 2008. This is by far the best option I've owned so far and I will list the reasons in my review. However, I wouldn't call it a perfect product for one main reason which is the mounting plate. While it is sturdy and made entirely out of metal, the screw is just extremely thick which makes connecting the tripod mount a very unpractical thing (check my photo). First, it would just extend the camera profile and make it very difficult to fit anywhere. Second, it's almost impossible to keep both the mounting plate and tripod plate attached securely to each other without one of them getting loose when set on the tripod. The loop found on the plate (where the neck strap gets attached to) is a very nice addon and complements the other rapid neck straps they offer, but it's also huge with a very sharp angle adding more profile to the entire camera. I think they need to work a little on the mounting plate and make a new design with a more slimmer and practical design as a tripod mount is a must. Now since I covered the room for improvement, let me list down the reasons why I believe that this is the best option I ever used. 1- The materials used and the design of the strap make it truly comfortable to wear as it's cushioned. 2- Most hand straps are too small, at least for my hand, which can cause my palm to get into direct contact with unpadded fasteners during shooting which isn't convenient, but I found that this was the only one to cover my entire palm which adds to the comfort of the strap. (check photo). 3- Most hand straps have either very short fasteners or very long fasteners dangling around, but here it's just right and you can easily hide the excess elegantly and conveniently. 4- It does stay in place and very secure, if adjusted properly, it should add more stability to the shots. ** Update: I found an easy way to fix the mounting plate issue, which is simply losing both threads (Tripod plate and strap mounting plate) and replacing them with a single longer screw which can also be purchased on Amazon. This will make sure the fit is tight and also the profile much thinner. The only disadvantage of this method is that you won't be able to remove the Tripod mount easily without dismantling the the strap as well. In my case, this is just OK because I only intend to use 1 camera on the same Tripod everytime, so I won't need to remove the Tripod mounting plate. -------- Update -------- So after trying the product for a couple of month I discovered that the mount issue has to be resolved as it's preventing me from using the very useful quick release backpack and belt mount. I've decided to finally cut the metal hook (check photos) as It stands between my quick release base and several mounts such as the Tripod mount and the backpack mount. I also replaced the original thread with a custom thread to minimize the profile of both strap and camera mount. Here is what you need to do. First you need to cut the metal loop part with a metal saw (I used a dremel). And don't forget to sand it after cutting it to prevent the rough areas from scratching your camera (lose the sharp edges). Second, you will need a 14cm replacement thread to go through both mount and into the camera. Please note that cutting metal can be dangerous if you don't have the expertise or required tools so please be careful and ask for help if you're not familiar with such projects. You also need to keep in mind that cutting off the extra loop will prevent you from using any other neck or shoulder strap. I suggest the manufacturer to redesign the plate or atleast provide 2 alternatives plates with more thread options even if it increases the price a bit but it would definitely sell more.

Super Secure, Comfortable, and Perfect for My Needs!
absolutely love this rapid-fire hand strap and mounting plate. It’s incredibly comfortable and feels very secure, which is important to me since I use a bulkier Nikon Coolpix camera and am always looking for the safest, most comfortable way to carry it. I’ve tried everything — crossbody straps, hip straps, harnesses — and this was the last option I tested. Surprisingly, it ended up being my favorite. One of the best features is the mounting plate. You can attach it to the bottom of the camera, connect it to the top, and even secure it around your wrist. With all those connection points, there’s basically no way the camera is going to hit the ground, and that peace of mind is huge for me as a birder always on the move. I also have shoulder issues, so I appreciate being able to hold my camera down at my side without having a strap pulling on my shoulders. This setup doesn’t cause any pain, and it doesn’t get in the way of any of my camera buttons or functions. It’s easy to raise the camera, take a quick shot, and not have a strap get tangled or slow me down before I lose sight of the bird. I added a couple of little pieces so I can quickly disconnect it and switch to another strap if I ever want to, but honestly, I almost never do. This hand strap is soft, comfortable, highly adjustable, and has lots of attachment points so you can personalize it just the way you like. Overall, it’s the best option I’ve found for keeping my camera secure while still being able to shoot quickly and comfortably. Highly recommend!

Safe & Secure
This grip is comfortable and secures the camera while allowing you to relax your hand and not drop your camera and return to a quick ready to shoot position.

Great product until things disconnect.
Great product, until it isn't. This wrist strap is very comfortable, feels secure and well made. When I have the secondary strap snapped around my wrist, I can pretty much just let go of my camera (D500 with 200mm lens) and not worry. This is ONLY if the small strap is attached, and this is my issue. Both ends of the strap can snap off. When this happens, it gets lost! Without the security of this smaller strap, the whole thing is just another run-of-the-mill wrist strap. It's impossible to get product service from Altura, so I'm voicing my opinion here. I'd gladly pay for a replacement strap but can't get in touch with the company.

I hate neck straps so I though long & hard about a hand/wrist strap. Most such straps either simply sit around your wrist or across the back of your hand, which is fine but the strap tends to slide on you so the gripis compromisd & it feels 'ungainly', however these have the added bonus of having an additional lanyard that wraps around the lower part of the wrist giving an almost 3 way grip. Once attached the main strap goes across the back of the knuckles & the lanyard wraps the opposite way aound the base of the hand via a press stud counter acting the grip. The result is a firm way to hold your camera. So good I've orderd 3 for 3 x Dslr's. Attach it via the strap ring on your body & by a screwed plate underneath the camera. Great design, well padded but if you needed to use a tripod you would have to detach it. Brilliantly made & great at doing what it should do.

I don't know why I took so long to change my neck strap for a hand strap. And this one is just the greatest! It fits my hand and allows me to hang my camera without the fear that I might drop it. The strap around my neck I rarely used. So this was a great alternative to that. And it's easy to grab and go when I have a shoot. And allows me to casually "hang" my DSLR when waiting for the next moment. UPDATE: After almost a year using this strap, I am very pleased with the product and quality. If you've ever stopped to consider how much you DON'T use your neckstrap to secure your camera, consider this the alternative. The neckstrap is no longer in the way.
