Why did you pick this product vs others?:I read reviews and chose this product because it has WIFI. I did not want to be relying on wires outside to make it work. I am very happy with this product. I enjoy reading the temperature, rain gauge and feels like report. I am located on the outside of my village. I bought it because temperatures are cooler at my location. Easy setup, temperature needed small calibration. Works flawless

Seems to work well, had it set up for a week with no problems. Easy to setup. Nice bright display.

FIRST: This is my 2nd or 3rd AcuRite weather station. Love them. Last one's fan died or was dying, causing the temp readings to be too high. I failed to realize until I was setting this up that it was a step down from the prior one, in that the display isn't geared for uploading data to my computer, and thus by wifi to the cloud.I have an account with Weather Underground to be able to publish the weather via their website. Prior display allowed for uploading data via a cord to my computer. This one isn't equipped for doing that.So I am using the old display with the new station, and it works!As such, I'm still able to see my backyard weather anywhere, using my phone on the Winderground website, the app, or via a computer. Its great! I'll hang on to the new display in case the old one ever dies. But I gotta say, knowing what the weather is in my backyard wherever I am is worth the cost! I didn't return the new station because of the modification and because I didn't realize the display issue until the station was 18' in the air, having paid my handyman to help me get it up there. (I'm in my 70s, an old lady weather geek! 🤓)SECOND: I purchased an upgraded solar and fan part available here on Amazon. The new station was slightly disassembled by unscrewing the upper part from the lower one, and switching the upper half out. Fairly easy to do if you have the right screwdriver. It added an extra solar panel, better able to catch sun movement, which controls the fan inside, which cools the elements inside so the temp reading is accurate. We shall see if it makes the fan live longer. In my mind, it should.

The media could not be loaded. I’m head over heels about my new Acurite weather station (model 06016)! Several years ago, I bought an earlier model (same sensor but old display), and it became an integral part to enjoying our yard. But after neglecting to clean it of bugs and debris last year, I decided to brush it off outside then ‘deep clean’ it over my kitchen sink. Big mistake. Because as hard as I tried not to, some water did get up its underside, which as the manufacturer warned, could destroy its sensors. Sure enough, water must have gotten up it because after minutes upright to drip dry, the solar panel fogged up and it stopped transmitting to the monitor. Losing it was like loosing internet access!I grieved my loss, had only myself to blame, then decided to move on. Fortunately, the new sensor has the same exterior design, and fit right onto my universal pole, and like my prior, without the bracket. I did save the bigger set screw my prior had to secure the new one.BTW, the new station’s bag of hardware is hidden inside the battery compartment (Amazon directed me to Acurite’s website, which says it would be). It turned out, I didn’t need any of it for my installation.The monitor is big, intuitive, and easy to set up. Its data is more informative, including notches for the two previous wind directions, and its ‘weather select’ feature (I love that I can set it to display wind chill)!Photos show old and new.
