Philips Norelco SH50/52 Shaving Heads, Compatible with Philips Shavers Series 5000 and 6000, Powerful Performance, Self-Sharpening, 3 Pieces, Model SH50/52 Replaces Model HQ9/50, HQ56/50 and RQ11/50

I ordered the $15 aftermarket heads 2 weeks ago, they suck. These are definitely worth the monet!

These fit my shaver from over 10 years ago perfectly. I've gone through multiple types of shavers over the years, safety, electric, etc. but I have come back to this electric shaver multiple times. These replacements fit perfect and the shave is nice too as it cuts with much less irritation as my old dull blades.It takes about 90 seconds to do a full replacement with the simple locking mechanisms. So it's nice and easy. I'll be back for more when needed.

For starters, the blades do shave better than the used ones I replaced. So I'm happy about that.When searching for Norelco H9 replacements, these seemed to be the only options from Norelco. It looks like Norelco redesigned the cutters or obsoleted the H9 design.In my originals ... each of the three disks, have three cutters (blades) in three concentric rings. The foils have three concentric perforated rings. These new ones have only one cutting ring. If you look at an original, you'll notice three perforated rings whereas these have only one perforated ring ... the outside ring.As I recall, the three cutting rings per each was a selling point for the shaver.Will I get a better or worse shave as compared to a new original design. I'll likely never know. But I do wish I had read about deep cleaning the originals and using toothpaste to clean up the original cutters. I did save the originals so I can experiment.

For those of you who bought the Norelco 8270XL at Costco (or anywhere else for that matter) some 12-15 years ago - REJOICE! Here we once again - FINALLY - have the perfect factory replacement heads for the Norelco shavers which use the old "HQ9" heads!!!! Stop and read that again - the old HQ NINEs (9s)!As noted in other reviews here , these blades DO replicate Norelco's "lift and cut" design to a "T". My ol' 8270XL shaver cuts here once again like it's brand spankin' OEM new as the SH50 blades cut quickly and effortlessly as intended. Within 3-4 minutes of receiving my package which I tore into, I JUST enjoyed my best shave here in YEARS with these!Stay away from the knock off HQ9s on eBay for $10 (hey, I was DESPERATE!) as my fake HQ9s there were NOT engineered with the "lift and cut" technology, and the fakes offered a terrible shave there. Stick with Amazon and the SH50s if you need to replace some HQ9s! At the time of this review I paid $31 and they're worth every penny at this price! I never wrote a review on Amazon in almost 20 years, but I felt it was my duty to share this news with the shaving community out there! Those near and dear to you will appreciate the close shave these beauties can offer! Change your heads/blades regularly to help avoid/reduce those awful shaving bumps on your neck and rinse your shaved areas afterwards with cold water to fight off ingrown hairs!! I have an older 8250XL that is working fine, however, the original HQ9/52 blades haven’t been made by Philips Norelco for a number of years. These SH50 blades fit in the 8250XL and work! Since they are only a single blade versus the double blade in the HQ9’s, it takes a little longer to shave, and that’s OK. These blades save me the nuisance of going down the rabbit hole of new electric shavers.

This is a real OEM replacement head. I have purchased cheaper knock-offs in the past. Even those pirating the Norelco name. Now I only pay the extra money and buy this from the same seller. You get what you pay for and it lasts a lot longer than the fakes.
